Past Mortem: The Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter Explained

Hi guys!

Our Mighty No. 9 video is finally done! Wanted to post it early for you guys to watch; should be up on Monday.

If you guys have been watching the streams, chatting with us on the reddit, or, well, been on this patreon, you have probably heard us talking about this script. Grace has been writing/editing this since June and Derek has been helping to edit the script since August. Once we finally got it ready to put the video together, we still had to revise it up until the final day of video editing. Full disclosure, this is Grace writing this post, and I think this is the best video editing Derek has ever done. I am super proud of him and of us for finally pulling this together. Hope you enjoy and thanks for waiting for our most ironically delayed video of all time!

Thank you for your support,

Grace & Derek

That makes sense. Thanks.

Damn, I didn't realize just how much of a clusterf**k the development for this game was. All I can really ask at the end of all of this is...What happened? Lol but this a great video guys! I love how yall go in depth in explaining everything.

I sincerely hope you get it soon! Fangamer is saying early 2017, but that's cold comfort for most -G

I wouldn't rule it out in the future! I could see us doing one after death stranding came out. I think that if we did do it we might just go deeper into what konami's post-kojima year was like or just an examination of their corporate culture (i'm getting really obsessed with how the "salary man system" has effected the industry!) Ideally i'd like to let a couple of years go by before we make another one. -G

Derek and I get so sad at the end of this video! It's hard to see because it was all so promising at the beginning.

Wow D I'm really impressed as to how detailed the journey of this game is laid out in this video. Great job man this is like documentary level stuff. It was definitely heartbreaking and tough to see how long and messy the journey was to make this game become a reality. All for a very disappointing product. That being said I'm really hoping that someday the blue bomber can make a triumphant return.

Will there be an updated video for Kojima at all?

250 bucks down the drain, small price to pay tribute to the man that made my childhood but a huge one nonetheless since I STILL have not received most of my physical content. The signed art book is honestly all that I wanted but I am seriously starting to think that I have to fly to japan and make him sign it myself.
