Arc VI: Trade -- After Thoughts
Added 2025-11-20 19:33:59 +0000 UTCOnce again, we've reached the end of the arc. That means there will be no new chapters until February 3rd for those of you here on patreon.
For those who want to save money and cancel, I'd recommend doing so now. I'd, of course, appreciate those who are willing to stay, but I prefer to be fair, upfront and honest about these things.
Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of lore or notes left to dump at this time. So it'll be mostly quiet. I drop the teaser for the next arc around December 25th, I think. Before then, I'll try to put together the updated character list cover all the characters and the information revealed in the Trade arc.
Reflections on the Story
With this arc complete, I can really feel patreon and RR starting to catch up with what I've written. I'm a slow writer compared to most authors on RR, so I knew this would inevitably happen. Still, I have two arcs completely written for you here, plus I've slightly expanded the beak periods. Thus, I'm 90% confident I can continue to deliver for the rest of next year.
Now, on the subject of the most recent arc, I can say confidentially say that Trade was not as popular as Gamers. Which, I'm pretty sure, had to do with the subject matter. Of course, the big hankering for more slice-of-life no doubt played a role as well. For those hoping for something more like Gamers, you're in luck. Because the next arc is 100% Cloud Island Wilderness. I won't say more than that.
Still, it's been amazing to have you all with me.
If any of you would like to chat through the down period, discord remains available.

Was it really not as popular? I liked it. The premise was good, and Tartarus is an interesting place, with lots of things to discover. But as I said earlier, Trade was a bit too tense, while Gamers was too safe. I hope the next arc strikes a balance between the two.
