Math of Netherwitch - Spreadsheets
Added 2025-08-19 15:53:27 +0000 UTCAfter spending the last two weeks acting like a vegtable, it's time to boot up the old noggin' and writing some fun little entries while we wait for the next story arc.
Previously, I've gone over the math of netherwitch covering attributes and damage calculations then the math as it applies to magic.
Obviously, I like to use spreadsheets when doing my math in the background. So I thought I'd share a spoiler reduced version with everyone. People can use it for fun and experimentation as well as for fanfiction if they want.
Be warned, there's a lot of idiosyncrasies in this document as it was never intended for anyone but myself.
Breakdown
The first page is for Sylvia. The upper left is Sylvia's levels and stats with some garbage below where I calculate experience/merit points over time to keep things sane.
The second page is a Character List. I usually use this to remind myself of character names and features. This page is not complete. I also left in some future character names and descriptions because they're mostly harmless.
The Monster page lists a lot of the phantasms created. It also has a shorthand calculator to, very roughly, ball park appropriate stats.
The NPC Creator that follows is for much more serious characters when I need their combat stats. There is also a handy dandy damage approximator for hits taken by that character which I really do need to split into its own page.
Next is the Skills page. A lot of this information is out of date. Consult the Grimoire instead. I used this when originally sanity testing my magic system to ensure scaling fell within appropriate range.
Equipment provides a handful of crude calculators I use to keep prices some of Sylvia's equipment pieces reasonable. It really could use some more love at some point.
Chapter Levels is just level blocks from Sylvia at certain chapters. I use this to recreate Sylvia at past intervals when I need to cross check data.
Talent Growth was my initial sanity chart for demon growth rates. I stress tested cultivation to ensure only geniuses could ever reach apotheosis. Now, I use it to generally scope what level supporting characters should've reached. One thing to note, talent rating here is inverted thus: 150% talent becomes 66.7% talent in story.
The Calander gives a good list of when events happen. This was heavily scrubbed for spoilers.
Finally, there's gamer classes which lists all the classes gamers have and their special traits. Be warned, some of this information is preliminary and thus subject to change.
