Video: My thoughts on Golden Demon 2024.
Added 2024-10-31 18:37:41 +0000 UTCHello everyone! First of all apologies for the delay in content I got a bit of post convention illness which has set me back schedule wise. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages I am still working through a backlog of messages and hope to get back to everyone in the next few days. The majority of the remaining videos for Trugg (including the almost disastrous resin pour) are finished aside from some final tweaks. The videos uploaded today will be followed by another 3-4 in the coming days. Next I want to make a video talking about what makes a Golden Demon winning entry and a video planning my next GD entry for Adepticon 2025. This will also include some information on project planning, composition and colour testing. After loosing a lot of footage I recorded for the Fundamentals series a few months back when my previous PC had some problems I have started working on this series again so I look forward to continuing that as well next month.
I hope you have enjoyed this series and it's been interesting! With GD and fingers crossed illnesses out of the way for the time being I look forward to returning to more regular content.

Seeing everything finally come together with Trugg was awesome as you are never quite sure how everything will look when fully assembled. I think I was most happy with the overall composition and it definitely had a lot of presence and wow factor in the cabinet even if some of the smaller things didn't work out as good as I had hoped. I guess it really just drives home just how important a good composition is and it's something I will try to incorporate more.

From all of the entries I picked 2 that I thought might win the sword and Trugg was one of them. Thanks so much for the Patreon I have learnt a lot and I have been painting models for 30 years (with a big gap 😂) Out of interest what gloves do you use? Those I have (my wife got them for picking up dog poo) are almost sticky which isn’t ideal. Thanks!

All the subtle details and how you’ve rendered them in a distinct yet unifying manner blows my mind. Although I’m leagues behind you in painting prowess I, as I’m sure many painters can, relate to the feeling of underachievement with a finished piece that, to the rest of the world, looks really good. You’ve always got that image in your mind of what the finished piece should look like and every little thing, however minor, that doesn’t live up to your vision can really nag at your mind and be a cause of stress. But as you say it’s also a source of encouragement to keep pushing yourself to even greater heights with your next piece. Again, this is a truly inspiring piece and so very well deserving of the Slayer Sword ❤️👌✨ I really wish I get a chance to see it in real life someday and I’m looking forward to seeing what you will create for the next GD, I’m sure it’s going to be mindbogglingly great!
