2025 Retrospective

As the festive period approaches, development on FOXXX will be slowing down a little bit while I spend some much-needed time catching my breath and celebrating the season with family.
It seems like the perfect time, though, to write up a brief retrospective about the game's development this year.

Firstly, I'd like to give everyone I've worked with this year their due recognition.
Supporters
It goes without saying, but FOXXX wouldn't be the same without you. Your suggestions, feedback and support have continued to bring the game to greater and greater heights, and I couldn't be more thankful.

Artists
This year, I've had the pleasure of commissioning and working alongside a bunch of very talented artists. They are, in no particular order:
NicoPossum (Main menu, respawn/mutation, Patreon, side menu, and crewmate portrait artworks)

Mouthmoth (Motivational poster artwork)

Technical advisors
Shout-out to [Redacted] and my wife, who have both spent most of this year explaining incredibly basic programming concepts to me while I slowly nodded like I understood (I didn't, but don't tell them that).
Development statistics
There were 46 new builds this year (140-186)
238,000 words of new content were added throughout the year. That's approximately 13 hours of reading (at 300wpm)!
13 Brand-new pieces of artwork were added (And a further 37 edits/variants)
Two development milestones were reached ('Enemy generals' and 'Expanded Cloning System').
Plans for 2026
The current Milestone, 'Revamped Ship', is making decent progress after what I consider a bit of a bumpy start. It turned out to be some of the most mechanically dense content I've worked on so far, but it feels like it's now over that initial hump as the new systems were built.
There are two Milestones after this one, 'Extended Intro' and 'The Ending'. The former is actually the smallest of the milestones so far, and the latter is just a lot of writing.
Following the price increase a few months back and the insane degree of support y'all have shown the project, I've been able to reach out to a ton of brand-new artists. Four pieces (Excluding variants) are fully paid, in development, and the WIPs are looking JUICY so far.
At the pace development is progressing, FOXXX will be feature-complete by mid-2026. After that, I'll be working on implementing player suggestions, Quality of Life features, etc!
One last shout-out
I'd like to give a final shout-out to you specifically, the person reading this. Whether you're a long-time supporter, play the Demos, or are stumbling across FOXXX for the first time.
The last few years have been incredibly stressful for 18+ creatives, especially in regions like the UK, where the policy nightmares drafted by payment processors are made all the worst by government chicanery.
The fact that the discoverability of my projects has fallen so dramatically this year has caused me a lot of stress, but against all odds, I'm still here, doing what I love, and I wouldn't be able to do that without your support.
