Merch update: Socks & hats

I recently got the samples for the new socks and beanies I planned for this year, and sadly most of them didn't make the cut :')

Will the beanies be done in time?

Beanies are something new that I'd really love to get for this autumn, but it's been challenging getting it right. While they look okay in the photos, there were some color and quality issues. The characters blended in too much, or the embroidery stitch itself was just poor quality and looked bad up close (especially on the caps).

It's a bit disappointing, but I've learned that this is just part of the process. I'm already getting new samples made from a different manufacturer, but I'm hyper aware of the timeline and can only hope I might have something in time for the holidays.

Socks on the chopping block

As for the socks, I simply didn't have as many designs this year. While I tried to get a new black sock made, they somehow turned out grey?

Overall, I had to make the hard decision to only make the ones that looked the best - which were the short Party Penguin socks and Kitty loaf crew socks. The photos don't do them justice since I took these photos in bad lighting, but trust me they are super cute!

Looking ahead

2024 is an interesting year because I'm trying to be more mindful about the designs I bring to life. It's fun to make lots of stuff, but I also have to be sure that I can sell everything I make or else it ends up gathering dust in my studio.

I'll keep you posted as soon as I get my new samples! (And if you're wondering where the kitty mug is, it's still in the process of being made cause the samples had to go through yet another round of revisions 🙃).
