A year in review, live tomorrow at 19:00 CST!
Added 2023-12-27 19:59:22 +0000 UTCI just released a little report on my Instagram analyzing some data from 2023 (https://www.instagram.com/p/C1UOhCfqv8L/) and I'll be doing a live walk through tomorrow (details at end).
I was pretty nervous to release this, mainly because it's very revealing about my business but also because numbers are not my strong suit and immediately after posting it I realized I made a mistake 😂 My salary is completely ignored in the expenses, oops.
But I wanted to do this because I think it's important to talk about the business side of things when running an art business. There's a lot that goes unseen and is never is shown on social media, and this give a glimpse into how my business runs and manages to stay afloat.
The biggest things I've tried to do for the sustainability of my business are 1) create multiple income streams and 2) create different kinds of products.
The graph above is one that didn't make the post because it completely ignores my own labor costs, thus isn't an accurate representation of the business expenses. But I think it's still interesting to look at to see where the money goes to.
This is another that didn't make the cut because my hours shift so drastically week to week depending on what's going on.
I spent a few days on this and it gives me a lot of personal insight into what's working and where to go next year. I hope it's interesting for you too!
