2025-02-17 23:16:44 +0000 UTCI had a theory that they dropped miss huang into this to secretly monitor seth, and I think the fact that it’s child/little girl, it makes him feel more comfortable with having authority. But I think it’s a fake feeling of power and seth is not in control as much as he thinks he is. When Drummond said this will be the greatest thing to happen to the planet, it solidified my belief that Lumon is experimenting with cloning/immortality and wants to see if memories from the original body can be transferred to a clone. This is why Cobelvig was so insistent on Mark and Ms.Casey having wellness sessions and why she stole the candle. She was trying so hard for it to be successful bc as Drummond mentioned to Seth he reminded him that the greatest finding was spearheaded by him. I think she wanted the credit for breaking new ground. She also expressed disappointment that they didn’t recognize each other and that the trial had failed. I think that’s why Ms.Casey is sent back to the testing floor and we see Mark’s cold harbor program over a video of her! It’s almost like they are saying just a few tweaks here and there and it will ready. Which is why everyone is so focused on what percentage Mark is at!

He was taking medications for a sinus infection/bronchitis or something of the sort. I thought it may be because he was left in the freezing tundra for a weekend, but I do agree that everything they show is deliberate. Perhaps he gets worse and can’t finish his file? Yes I am way too paranoid about what finishing Cold Harbor entails.

2025-02-15 13:56:53 +0000 UTCFor Burt, it seems like he was lying but he actually didn't technincally lie. He said he was "canned" and pressed them to give him a reason. He was FORCED to retire because of his innie and I think he was up to something too and wanted to stay. Lumon may have made him film that retirement video for his co-workers because they wanted to make "killing" aka firing him as disgestable and humane as possible for his co-workers to manipulate them as it might cause them to unionize or revolt. I can totally see them doing that, especially as they lied to Mark how they handled his co-workers original firing to manipulate them saying they "refused to come back" when they were just fired. This also not the first time "retirment videos" has been talked about in the show and how Lumon lies about it. Near the first episodes of season 1, they said they had a co-worker called Carol D. who also filmed a "retirement" video to let the know they were leaving which is the reason it cause Mark to suspect something happened with Petey as they said he "retired" but he didn't have a video to film like Carol or maybe Burt since he was off the grid.

The reintegration process seems to be messing with both his mood and his health. I don't think they're showing him coughing for no reason. Also, just noticed while rewatching this episode that both innie and outtie Mark used the exact same phrasing when referring to Irv and Gemma. His innie said about Irv, "He is not dead. He's just not here," and his outtie said about Gemma, "She is not dead. She's just not here."

Mr Shambolic himself, he was also responsible for missing the innie revolution that ended season 1. When you lie for a liar, don't act surprised when that liar lies on YOU.
