THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER (1x7-1x8) *REACTION* FIRST TIME WATCHING!

Once upon a midnight dreary this series made us weak and weary in this first-time watch of THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER! We're kicking off our brand new Mike Flanagan series with a glimpse into the trials and tribulations of the most fabulously vile family and to say it rocked us to our core would not do this brilliant show justice. Will it be the blood or the tea that spills faster? The race is on and let the games begin! πŸ€πŸ¦β€β¬›πŸ«€πŸ‘‘πŸˆβ€β¬›

Us approximately one day after finishing filming this series reaction "OH MY GOD VERNA IS AN ANAGRAM FOR RAVEN!!!!" lolol. Let's talk!!!!

I was not a huge fan ofcthis whrn it came out but rewatching it with y'all i absolutely loved it. I never even knew Lenore was killed. I loved Camille so much she was breathtakingly beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. I have to say now that this one and midnight mass are my favs. Thanks for reintroducing me.

I hope they continue reacting to more Mike Flanagan projects. Not sure if the only ones they've seen are this, Gerald's Game, Ouija 2, and Hush but they got an abundance to choose from if that is indeed the case.

A lot of people missed that Ver na is an anagram of Raven. The part where Verna visits Lenore, before she takes her and tells her what her mother accomplished, broke my heart

This series gives me goosebumps! That last episode is poetry, a beautiful tribute to Poe. πŸ’•

I love it! Elvis Martin in Hendersonville, TN was the artist https://www.reddit.com/r/TheFallofHouseofUsher/s/5bVqSW0Ikc

Oh I want to see the Madeline tattoo - that's so awesome!

I will forever be a Madeline stan. She's awful, but never hides exactly who she is. She's honest that way, with herself and others, in a way Roderick never is. And, in her final monolouge, she isn't wrong about a lot of it. She just takes no responsibility for her/their part in harming the world. My favorite bit is her last word being you, motherfu..." - cracks me up! I wwas yelling at the TV - Bitch, that's your move, but she never saw it coming. Also, the weird, incestuous vibes throughout - mostly subtle, but the way he sent her out...my sister and I 100% believe he f*cked her. What's some kinda necrophilia between twins, right? I'm going to try to message you a picture of my Madeline tattoo because I adore it!

Amber Kinsey

It was Mary's idea, apparently. Something about powerful people using things like that , as an affectation or shield. She removes it to face Verna as she is, underneath, because Verna will see through it anyhow.

Hey, I really enjoy that you guys can dig into classic literature and films. I'm 61, and your perspective is awesome, but that you know that of which you speak, I'm super impressed. Loved it babes!

Such a fucking joy to watch you two react - doesn't matter how many times I've seen the series, I'm snapping and clapping along with y'all! It's so satisfying to watch these entitled assholes get their comeuppance, and I love how Verna (anagram for RAVEN!) relishes in Froderick's death. The phrase "And it's still no fucking excuse" has become a regular one in my life haha. She seems to be glad, almost relieved when Arthur declines her offer. I think that's why she touches him in a loving gentle way, a way he has never had with the detached life he's lived. Even though he was shady af, he wasn't going to be tempted and accepted the consequences. I'm sure it's rare for someone to turn her down (I mean HELLO) so I got the feeling she had respect for it. GAH I love this series and I could talk about it forever - thanks again so much for this!

This show is a masterpiece! I love it so much and I knew you guys would love it too. Hill House will always be my number one Flanagan show. This one is my number two, followed closely by Midnight Mass. Bringing up the rear is Bly Manor, which was really good, but in my opinion, just not quite the caliber of the other 3. I personally didn't like Midnight Club. I can honestly say that it's the only Mike Flanagan project (and I have seen everything he has done on IMDb except his student films) that I have not enjoyed. He is so, so talented. ❀️ His shows, his movies... everything.

The wig reaction was hilarious! I truly don't get what the thought process behind that wig was. Mary McDonnell's natural grey hair is stunning. If my grey hair looked like that, I'd stop coloring it. I genuinely wonder if there was a reason for that crazy looking wig for Madeline.

Just finished watching! What an absolute blast watching this phenomenal show with you guys. Such pristine television and experiencing it with you was one of the highlight of you're channel for yet. You're commentary, especially the moments where we just admire how much some characters slay, is the BEST. Anyways, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who found the old man, Roderick Usher, dastardly good looking hahaha. Also, ya'll freaking out for the wig at 32:30 had me LIVING. Roderick, Madeline and literally EVERYONE was so amazing in this show. What a rare sight for how big the cast is.

I would take the 70, 80 yrs over the money any day.. life is what you make it.

Verna and the mystery around her truly is such good example of an Eldritch being, fitting for a show inspired by Edgar Allen Poe. The way she says they were "outside of time and space" when they made the deal and the imagination that fuels me still gives me goosebumps.

It seems to just be the app for some reason, it plays fine on desktop.
