THE OMEN (1976) *REACTION* FIRST TIME WATCHING!

We've said our prayers and we're awaiting our fate -- It's our first time watching The Omen (1976) and in this Full Length Patreon exclusive we're damned to a good time. Damien might be the antichrist - but he'll always be Slaymien in out hearts. βοΈππ€
Just doing a rewatch and it's worth an additional comment or two. There are 2 commentaries on this film, both with Richard Donner and with different technicians on both. That fall from the balcony? It's a fake obviously but how? Donner said Lee Remick refused to do the initially planned fall from the balcony. So they came up with what turned out to be a famous shot. As Remick 'falls' she is standing on a cart which is moved by grips, she is pushed to a wall that has been dressed as the floor. So she was standing during the 'fall' and pushed on a cart, she had to turn a bit to make it seem somewhat natural, because it is an unnatural looking shot, but they fixed it so it looks convincing and wouldn't harm anyone. Donner was very proud of that fact and mentions that even the goldfish in the bowl were unharmed. The fish are fakes in one shot and live ones in the next, they were immediately put back into an aquarium after their famous film appearance. One more kinda funny thing, the scene where the taxi driver drops them off, they get out and have a conversation? Gregory Peck accidently shut the door onto the drivers hand, if you'll notice his hand is bandaged.

Omigod when you said" put a fork in her she's done" I nearly died,π. Omen 2 is just ok, to me at least. Didya ever see To Kill a Mockingbird? It's right up there at the top of Pecks acting in films. One thing about him in the Omen is, if HE us scared, then, lookout, we in deep $$#%.

Totally get why you wanted more Damien (I can totally see it!) but I like how he's not so blatant about it. I feel it leaves some ambiguity like the first time I watched it and Daddy was going for the stab I couldn't help but be like "don't kill the child! What if it turned out he was just a kid?"
And yes I'd be the dumb white bitch that dies cause she can't kill babies π€£

A 70s horror movie that I've seen almost no one react to is House (1977). It is AMAZING. Other great 70s horror -- Carrie, Tourist Trap, The Hills Have Eyes (old school Wes Craven!), Alice Sweet Alice (Brooke Shields' first movie), and The Wicker Man.

And I said I'd never watch this movie again because it was trauma from my childhood, but here I am watching cause my Pumpkins are reacting to it. β€οΈπ

I voted for this because it's one I have wanted to see, but just had never gotten around to. I enjoyed it, but my biggest takeaway from the reaction is this: Che's face when the baby was wailing at the beginning π. I feel truly seen. We are one, Che. π

This film quite possibly has one of the greatest horror scores of all time by the late great Jerry Goldsmith. He won his only oscar for this movie.
