RED EYE (2005) *REACTION* FIRST TIME WATCHING!

The pictures in the beginning were real…fun fact!

Fun fact: those early evening editions of the newspaper are what local TV used to produce segments for the early morning news, that's why TV news always matched what was in the newspaper

I worked as a journalist and before social media & the internet in our pocket, major newspapers had a "bulldog edition" that was delivered in early evening in advance of the morning paper.

This is such a fun movie. So glad it won the poll and you got to watch it. It was a fun rewatch for me- it's been a hot minute since I had seen it.

Fun Fact: Cillian Murphy scared the s$^& out of me so I never watched any of his movies. I just watched this movie 2 years ago. 😳 Unfortunately; I missed out on an awesomely talented actor for several years. 🍀 Now he's one of my favorite actors. 😍 I don't like flying either. 💺Cillian is so frightening in this movie. 🎞 Rachel McAdams is a BIUTIFUL beautiful and extremely talented actress. 🛩

M. Annytte Girard

Yep; it's a cult classic. I love Jake

Nightcrawler reaction would be the best. I love this movie and watching y'all react.

Ooo if you're wanting to do something with Jake Gyllenhaal may I request Donnie Darko? Have y'all seen it? 🖤🐰

Big yes to a Jake G deep dive!

Something I just noticed is the way she says “Dad” after crashing into the house is reminiscent of how Sidney says it in original Scream.

Even though he loved making the movie, Cillian Murphy has said he doesn't think it's that good ("it's a good B-movie"). But I love it because it's so campy and ridiculously fun. Cillian and Rachel McAdams have an insane amount of chemistry too. I also agree that it should have been Lisa who finally took him out. Some fun facts: The movie was written for Sean Penn and Robin Wright (who were married at the time) in mind. However, Wes Craven wanted younger leads. Cillian wanted the role of Jackson so badly that he took a plane from England to Hollywood two days before his wedding to have lunch with Wes Craven. Wes later gave him the part saying that his eyes won him over. Wes also got married in the middle of shooting. If you look closely in the plane bathroom scene you can see Cillian's hand holding the back of Rachel's head. This is because in an earlier take he accidentally knocked Rachel out and wanted to prevent it from happening again. That take was captured on film and is included in the gag reel on the DVD (you can also see it here at 3:04: https://youtu.be/S3c_Wb_0urw?si=CQVQiTIFjArOpuDp). Btw, Brittany Oaks who plays Rebecca (the little girl) and is absolutely hilarious is 30 years old now! When the woman spills an iced coffee on Lisa, the expression on Rachel McAdams's face is real as she did not know it would be so cold. It also wasn't supposed to spill on her to that extent, but it worked so they kept it. For the movie, fake airline tickets were printed up for passengers to carry and use. On the back was listed 12 terms and conditions for buying the ticket, just like on real airline tickets. However, the twelfth read: "All the provisions of this Passenger Ticket and Baggage Claim Check are completely bogus. It's all a bunch of excessive detail, and if you happen to be reading this you've got too much time on your hands. Bring a good book next time". This was Jayma Mays' feature film debut. Before this she had only guest starred on one episode of Joey (the Friends spinoff). The annoying male hotel customer in the beginning and end is portrayed by Robert Pine, actor and father to Chris Pine. Another movie similar to this (mainly because it's a thriller/mystery that mostly takes place on a plane) that I recommend is Flightplan starring Jodie Foster. It was released the same year too.

Rachel can do comedy and drama equally as well. Iconic Queen!
