[WIP] Tiger OC - Taika

First off, so sorry I haven't been around lately. If you keep up to date on my Twitter you'll know I've somehow developed feelings for a man (🤢 I know right?). I've never really opened myself up to the possibility of proper dating so it'd all entirely new emotions and I just really don't know how to process them 😅. Anyhow, I'm sure this little infatuation will pass but for now I'll have to pull myself away from giggling like a school girl every time I get a text from him and get shit DONE!!

Anyhow, below is just gonna be some information about who tf the guy in my banner art is so feel free to ignore but also I'll probably be drawing him more often so if you wanna know, here ya go! If that don't interest you then I shall see you again soon, hopefully! 💃

A blast from the past, I wanted to do more original works and honestly my Tigerman OC is one of my all time faves (he's still my banner art on like everything 😅) I used to just call him "El Tigre" because the group he was for didn't know his real name but his canonical name has always been "Taika"!

His whole dealio is that in the universe he was made for magic is separated into Human Magic and a parallel world of Animal People Magic. Humans use spells and incantations while animal people have a baseline ability to use magic plus a specific magical power. Taika draws energy from ley lines and can redirect magical energy that way. When his magic awakened he caught a glimpse into the Human world as all magic is inherently connected and became enamoured with it. As he grew he had to put the images of the Human world behind him and focus on being a future leader to his tribe of big cats but curiosity kills the ct as it were and he eventually ran off to seek out the place in his visions all those years ago.

Fast forward and Taika was able to break through the barrier and found himself in New York City, hiding his form as a human now going by the name "Tig" (the "other" guy in my banner). However, changing forms proved difficult to Taika and it essentially requires him to use all his concentration and magic to maintain. As the years went on Taika became a repressed identity which is why I often draw him in chains, being metaphorically chained inside Tig's head, but more and more often breaking fee in the form of nightmares. Basically anytime I draw Taika and Tig together, that's them meeting inside their own head 🤣
