Ahjin does care for some people around her especially Junseo and Jaeoh. But the way she expresses it is different. For example, when Junseo was getting ready to donate his kidney, Ahjin says “don’t give me any reasons to worry about” This might sound so cruel to empathetic/normal people. But Junseo understands her so he replies “don’t come to the hospital and eat well” because he knows she is worried. Also just because she cares for them that doesn’t mean she won’t out herself first. She is always in survival mode. Her goal in life is not to be happy but rather reach a place so no one would bully her. When the psychopath CEO proposes she has no choice but to say yes because she is literally out of any other ways. In a way you might think “wow she got what she wanted and now a rich guy likes her” But if you follow Ahjin’s character she hates depending on someone the most. She is basically cornered by the CEO.

2026-02-05 06:27:01 +0000 UTCI think in real life you can only identify sociopathic and psychopathic behaviour by their lack of empathy, manipulation, lack of remorse, etc.. that’s why in the drama the people involved with Ahjin don’t see they are being manipulated until its too late. Same thing goes in life so if you see someone with these traits it’s better to set boundaries to protect yourself from them. If you can’t recognise the patterns, chances are you could be traumatised and not even realise you are being used and manipulated. Just like some of the characters in the drama.
