2024-03-16 19:14:17 +0000 UTCI need to write a really personal comment here I hope it’s not weird: I’ve watched this episode about a dozen times for sure but never really understood it and I really appreciate your commentary because now I think I do. I’ve always understood Steven going “she doesn’t want to think about herself!” was supposed to be a big, impactful moment for Amethyst’s character but never really understood why. Hearing you at the start of the episode being like “she hates herself” and analyzing her character persona up to this point really drove it home for me. I think Amethysts character has been a blind spot for me because I also relate to her to most! I don’t “care” about life sometimes and it’s worth looking inward and figuring out why, rather than being proud of being the cool guy in the group who doesn’t let the stresses of life get to him. I don’t care about myself. Anyway, lemme not get to parasocial here, but thank you for this video! I’m gonna talk to my therapist about this one hahaha. Also I look forward to your SU and AT videos every day. I watch them on my lunch break :)
