EU VAT and Customs

We have looked into the EU customs position on VAT and custom clearance in great depth over the last week and will be adopting the following:

1) For Crash, ZZAP! 64, AmtixCPC and the soon to be launched ZZAP! Amiga on Patreon - we now have an IOSS number from Patreon that will be incorporated into the mailing labels sent out meaning that the magazine will clear customs and you will not be charged VAT. On Patreon you pay the VAT upfront as part of your payment - there will be no additional charges going forwards.

2) For sales on the Fusion Retro Books site - I will shortly have a Fusion Retro Books IOSS number. VAT for purchases from customers in the EU will be charged at the point of sale, and then be declared to the respective countries tax authorities through an intermediary company. This will be put in place ASAP.

Comments

Since there is no VAT on both magazines and postage in the UK, why are we paying VAT here?
