Quick Update

Hi Everyone!

This will be a brief catch up on where I am today and several broad strokes on where I intend to be heading down the road. It's been a very busy month for me at work and on the weekends. The purpose of this post is to offload some things from my mind and touch base with everyone else.

Payment Suspension

For those of you supporting me on Patreon, pledges and payments will continue to be suspended for another month, indefinitely. You can read about the details in this previous post as to why all this is happening.

Changing Gears

Over the past 2 months, I've pretty much hit the ground running and maneuvered back into opening myself up for commissions. I've taken about 10+ requests so far, and will be working towards delivering these orders over the course of September - November. I will be taking a break from commissions between December - January. Subsequently, I will reopen for commissions in February 2020.

Projected Milestones

Feb 2020 - season wrap-up for my day job (future prospects unknown).
Mar 2020 - performance review for the 2nd year of my day job.
Jul 2020 - lease for current place of rent expires (access new options).

Optimal Conditions

For now a few factors may affect my decision when to get back into producing for Meatier Showers. The first would be location. It has not been conducive to work on comics based on my current circumstances. Come July 2020, we'll see what rental options are available and hopefully, I can find one that's a good balance between proximity to my workplace (assuming I'm still there) and the right environment for working on my stuff. The second factor would be my day-job. I'm honestly not sure how well or how far I can tank through, but my ideal length of service would be 3-5 years at least (before burning out).

These are precarious times to say the least, and I'm vividly aware of how fortunate to be where I am today. My finances have stabilized for now and am able to build my savings.

Thirdly, at the expense of repeating myself would be timing. Timing is everything and it's rather intangible to talk about, It's such a highly variable factor that I have to leave it for the last. Currently I would not make any rash decisions. Maintaining this stability and flow has been a priority, and I've had a good portion of my 20s to work on my pet project as it is.

That's all for now.
