A Different Chapter

Hi Everyone,

I've procrastinated with this post largely on the account of not knowing how best to articulate my thoughts and intentions, but it's been about 2 weeks now since moving to my new place, and I figured it was time to start, regardless of my personal reservations.

In A Nutshell

I will be suspending production on the Meatier Showers 2019 project and my Patreon account. While there will still be 1-2 more updates this month, subsequent payments will be suspended for the month of September.

Changing Circumstances

As explained in an earlier post, I had to move out from my previous place as the lease was ending on 28 July 2019. Having moved to the new area, the stability of my lifestyle and routines have been in upheaval, especially since I am now staying across a car park and unloading bay. I'm still currently in the process of finding sound proofing solutions.

On top of which, the room is significantly smaller than my previous place, The desk is kiddie-sized at best, and does not offer the preferred depth for my usual keyboard-on-tablet setup. I don't favor the laptop keys are they are hard to discern apart from one another, and difficult to work fast with.

It was only yesterday that I found these polystyrene cubes that I've used to elevate the laptop, so that I can slide the Wacom tablet under. And it's only this weekend that I'm able to get back into some semblance of production. And on that note...

Suspension of Patreon Payments

At the time of this writing, I still haven't figured out my work rhythm and methods with this new setup. Truth be told, I'm still adjusting to my new environment and all, and I don't honestly know how long it'll take for me to resume 100% production speed.

These are the immediate actions that have been taken:

• Patreon payments for September have been suspended and nothing will be billed to supporters for that month.
  
• Reward tiers have been removed as an additional  measure.

The problem with the payments suspension is that it lasts only for a month, And I'll have to reactivate it every subsequent month thereafter if I am still not ready. There's no system currently in place to set a specific timeframe. (It's also only recently that Patreon allows creators to upload multiple images in one post... which kinda highlights the speed of progression here.)

I've also considered unlaunching my Patreon page for the meantime, but:

If you launch your page in the future, you will be subject to Patreon's standard pricing at that time.

I'm still weighing my options on this matter before proceeding, but generally if I were to unlaunch my existing page, it does come with the penalty that I will lose my Founder tier status on Patreon.

The Future Ahead

For the month of August, I will continue to post 1-2 final updates on this Patreon project. The purpose of this post is to notify all my Patreon supporters of the change in circumstances and allow you to make decisions. It has been a difficult decision to make, but the production of Meatier Showers 2019 will be suspended starting this month. The final available page 6 will be published towards the end of August so that everyone who has been supporting this project will know how far it went.
