Agreed. You would be asking a very different question to what you might have asked at a different time - but a powerfully relevant question to gaming as a whole, when so much of gaming is about simulating situations that are ethically problematic (if much less obviously so). Quinns, I think this is a question of whether you are willing to channel your inner Hunter S. Thompson (or Sacha Baron Cohen) and sail up river into the heart of darkness.

2023-07-20 22:43:47 +0000 UTCThe farming sim sounds good! Even if you didn't find it "interesting" I think the environment and people's excitement would be too great not to get caught up in it. The Border Wars is 5/10 mainly because I wonder what kind of people would be in it. They're bound to have relatives/relationships from either side, does that effect them? Can't say I'm interested in the whole war games side though.

As part of learning what sort of people participate, I’d be really interested to know how they feel about simulating a war in Europe while there’s a war in Europe happening. Like, has it even occurred to them? Do they see it as practice before joining the fight? Or do they think their hobby is no more related to the war in Ukraine than philately?
