2024-11-11 16:57:59 +0000 UTCIn the middle of a month of total chaos when I absolutely did NOT have time, I dropped everything and flew with my husband from NY to San Antonio to see Billy Joel and Sting together at the Alamodome. It was EPIC! I'm disabled. I have fibromyalgia, psoriatic arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, bad knees, bad ankles, and a brand new heel spur. I was jumping up and down and dancing (in my lavender cowgirl boots) and singing and cheering my lungs out for four hours. I had an amazing time. Sometimes you just need to drop all the shit & let the music take you. It was an absolutely healing experience. Two of my favorite musicians on one stage. So so so good! Billy didn't sing all the songs I wanted to hear, but he sang a lot of them. I really wanted Miami 2017 and 2000 Years, but he sang The Entertainer and it was glorious and I just about lost my mind. And Sting didn't sing Love is the Seventh Wave, but he played Desert Rose and Shape of My Heart which is one of my favorites. Did I mention the concert was Epic? It was EPIC!

2024-11-11 16:36:35 +0000 UTCI can't wait to watch. I LOVE Billy Joel. I saw him in Chattanooga back in '84 (old Billy Joel fan whose daughter converted me into a new Swiftie). It was one of my first concerts. One of my top 5 concerts was Billy Joel at Ruby Diamond in Tallahassee- the intimate venue had amazing sound, unfortunately, he wasn't his best when I saw him at the Memphis Pyramid with Elton John (2001) as one of the first concerts my hubs and I saw after we were married. My daughter and I both have The Stranger in our top 20 albums list.
