Announcement: Small change to the Wolf Lord [Edit: And Fixer] ($15) Tiers going forward
Added 2023-05-03 07:23:09 +0000 UTCHello everyone, LunaWolve here!
Just a quick headsup, that I will be making a small adjustment to the $15 Tier (Wolf Lord [Edit: And Fixer]) going forward.
The change is as follows:
- Added a new Benefit called Overflow/Draft Chapters.
$15 Patrons will get the Overflow chapters from today on, going forward. There are currently none of them available, but it's likely I'll finish chapter 14 today, which would fall under this new rule. This post is in preperation for that potential outcome, so that everyone is appraised beforehand.
Overflow chapters are basically anything above the 5 guaranteed advance chapters for the $5 Patrons, if I end up finishing some additional chapters way ahead of schedule (at least 2+ days).
I was wrecking my brain on how to show some appreciation for the people that go above-and-beyond with their support here on Patreon, and that seemed the most logical course of action to me. This will also allow me to get some additional early feedback, before the chapters are released fully on Patreon, so there might be some slight quality improvements for the rest of you too!
Overflow chapters will not come with any guarantees, such as amount of advance chapters, release schedule or anything of the sorts, as they are purely an additional 'Thank You' I want to provide and do not want them to become a further responsbility.
---
They'll be posted in clearly marked Patreons posts, such as:
"[Wolf Lord+ | Draft] Arc 1 - Chapter 14 - Practical" or "[Fixer + | Draft] Chapter 14 - Practical"
It'll be done in this fashion so that the $5 Patrons will still receive the email notifications when I upload the proper chapter for the rest of the Patreon. Their names will continue to stay the same:
[TAS] Arc 1 - Chapter 14 - Practical or [ND] Chapter 14 - Practical
That means that going forward, there might be 2 different posts with a similar-looking names on the Patreon. One locked for Wolf Lord+/Fixer+ Tiers, the rest locked for Honor Guard+/Operator+ Tiers.
---
Just to re-iterate, in case someone got confused with my mad ramblings:
The $5 Honor Guard/Operator Tiers will not change in any way. You will continue to get 5 Advance Chapters at the promised rate, with absolutely no changes to this at all.
I hope that this is a good compromise for everyone involved. If there are any concerns, please let me know in the comments down below!
Thank you for your continued and incredible amounts of support on this story!
I can't wait to get more chapters out to all of you!

There might be a misunderstanding here. I'm not intending to charge $15 for extra chapters. I'm giving extra chapters for $15. The cause and effect is the other way around, than you made it seem. The extra chapters are neither guaranteed, nor will they be on a schedule. They're just overflow that goes past the 'actual' Patreon (the $5 tier, that's the only 'real' patreon tier). I just added the benefit as an additional little bonus for people that CHOOSE to support me with 3x the amount they have to. As a 'thank you' of sorts. Maybe some day, when I have like a ton of extra chapters, I might make a real extra tier with more chapters, but we're nowhere near that. I highly doubt $15 is the right tier to make money. It's not my goal either. I have a full-time job, after all. This is just a hobby for me. I think $10 is the thing that makes most RR authors the best money, but I don't intend on having a $10 tier for quite a while. I'm content with the current setup. --- I'm not asking anyone to change Tiers, whatsoever. I'm already floored by people being willing to spend $5 to read my stuff, much less having the gall to ask for more! Please, stick with the $5 if you don't simply WANT to support me more. That was and still is the main reason for anyone to consider the $15 tier. The overflow chapters aren't worth the money alone, trust me!

2023-05-03 19:15:45 +0000 UTCI honestly think $15 is too much for extra chapters when the big hitters tend to set their highest tier at $10 and they have huge backlogs. I also think only getting an extra chapter for $10 kind of kills my motivation to change tiers, but I usually only subscribe for a month at a time anyways so I'm not a great example. I guess what I'm wondering is will the $15 tier maximize your money? Is there anywhere they has done analysis on this topic?

2023-05-03 16:03:17 +0000 UTCHere's one thing I noticed worked for me really well as a subscriber. The First Defier started off modest. I think 10 advanced chapters with his highest tier. But every month he posted 2 bonus chapters. One for first two days of the month irrespective of other chapters. And those bonus chapters were only accessible for his highest tier. Then over the course of months (years really) he built up to an impressive 50 chapter advantage over RR. This could well serve you as both a backlog and as an incentive.

2023-05-03 15:51:59 +0000 UTCPlease don't, haha. Honestly, I'd rather prefer if nobody went for the meme tiers, cause otherwise I'll actually have to spend time figuring out how to manage all that stuff. π€£

2023-05-03 12:05:06 +0000 UTCLOL It's more of a meme tier that I was too lazy to remove from the old Patreon (this one was used as my Patreon when I was a content-creator, years ago). But I guess you would also get access to every benefit, probably forever? So I'd say it's probably not a lie. No idea how I'd continue to send new chapters when the patron runs out, but I'd figure something out...? xD

2023-05-03 11:59:00 +0000 UTCDoes the $100 tier really give everything forever? π€π€
