Leica M-agic.

I have been distancing from my Leica M240 since I bought it in 2014.
I stopped working with it for my work in Milano for Codcast Channel, just to start using it again when I started with nudes in 2016, and it was one of the only 2 cameras I was using for all 2017!
The arrival of mirrorless cameras was really paramount to further abandon the rangefinder Leica, both for the older sensor that was getting more and more disappointing especially in low light, and because of the rangefinder mechanism itself, that requires constant practice and full commitment.
It has always been a love/hate relationship with M cameras (even my film M4P), because critical focus is difficult, and framing your subject precisely is a nightmare the more you get closer to it.
But I never abandon the Leica M240 completely for my nude shootings, because I'm very fond of it, it is a pleasure to use, and is even better than most other systems in full daylight.
To convince me to leave it in the drawer, I had to buy another Leica M, the M10 Monochrome, and my honeymoon with the rangefinders from Leica started all over again, with the excuse of making the best possible BW pictures.

The photos on the balcony with Mary, for example, are one of those inspired moments when I enjoyed using the M240, and I also like the results.
Maybe this older Leica is not going to stay in that drawer as long as I imagined, maybe I could do a shooting with just the 2 M digital cameras in the future...
