2025-06-02 15:33:50 +0000 UTCOk, several points: 1. Theoretically, they can't make the cure from Ellie anymore since Abby's dad was the only one capable of doing it. That's a big reason why all the ex-Fireflies hate Joel so much; not only out of loyalty to Abby or her father but because they also believe (and, as far as we know, rightly so) that Joel ruined humanity's last chance to find a cure. 2. Season 1 adapted the complete first game. Season 2 adapts the first half of the second game, which ends exactly as we see in the TV show, with that confrontation between Abby and Ellie and then the flashback to Abby's Seattle Day One. What comes next is some of the boldest storytelling I've ever seen, let alone in a videogame. It worked wonders for some people (like me) but disappointed others too. I hope the show does justice to it and that it works for you the same way it did for me. 3. There's not a release date for Season 3 yet. I really hope it comes out next year, but it might well go to 2027. 4. On a lighter note, I think we did know already that Ellie could swim. I say this because in the first game she couldn't but I seem to remember that she could in Season 1, which surprised me (I think it was in episode 2, when she, Joel and Tess are in a flooded building).
