2022-05-23 02:24:28 +0000 UTCWholeheartedly agree! Loved it, minus Maureen’s protest performance. Definitely the most musical musical I’ve seen. Next time I get a chance to see the show on stage, I’m definitely going to check it out. Did Angel have to die, though?! 😭

The electricity in the air of the theater is palpable and it's really impossible to translate that to film, but i think they did as good a job as they possibly could. The music is all the same, it's just rearranged a bit. in the play La Vie Boheme is the last song before intermission and then Seasons of Love is sung right at the beginning of the second act. I love every single thing about this show EXCEPT Maureen's protest. I'm so with you on that. Hate it, hate it, hate it. Every time I watch this show, whether it's a live performance or this movie, the songs "Will I" and "Without You" just destroy me. Every. Single. Time.

2022-05-05 05:47:45 +0000 UTCIt's so funny that you said Mimi has an ok voice, but it's not a Broadway voice because of the 8 main characters only Rosario Dawson and Traci Thoms (who plays Joanne) were not cast members of the original Broadway play. Wilson Jermaine Heredia (Angel) also played that same part in the original Broadway run and won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical.
