We wrote a new plugin to make choosing and adding new emotions during dialogs easier. The plugin we wrote for this purpose a year ago was handy, but when there are more than one character the work becomes complicated. With the new plugin it seems we’ve managed to solve this problem.
But the main problem we have is with animation: we cannot make it on this engine so it doesn’t lag.
At first we did it with inner means of the engine. It worked, but there was a constant flickering. Then we wrote a plugin to get rid of it, but the result is jerky, with unstable FPS. And the more things happen on the screen, the more it lags. Our hope is that requestAnimationFrame will help fix this FPS drops problem, but it’s not very high.
And we don’t want to release it without animation, we didn’t draw it for nothing and it was our first animation after all ^__^
The plugin for chasing was also slow and we had to rewrite it a bit to make it faster.

I recommend you to create a Discord group(its free), there you can communicate directly with anyone without issues, and you could get help from the people that have knowledge with that rpg engine you're working on.

2018-12-07 21:26:10 +0000 UTCI know of several dev's that use animation in MV games, some using pre-compiled animations, some doing the animation in engine. Send me a pm if you'd like me to point you towards them (and which type you're doing), they may be able to help you work around the issue.
