Clarifying Chapter 72

Hi Lusties. I recently made an edit on the recent debrief, but I decided to make an overall post dedicated to this topic because I don’t want it to go unseen.

Here was the edit made: Hi my loves. I wanted to add this edit in here because it feels like Liberty was very misunderstood here. I know a lot of you are upset that she walked away from Monroe, but this wasn’t for a random or small reason. The possibility of Monroe killing someone else was very overwhelming, as it would be for most people in that situation. Yes, Ro was breaking down, but so was Liberty, and she said internally that they were both lost at sea and she couldn’t help Monroe right now. Liberty’s reaction to all of this is 100% human, especially after the Maricel situation that occurred just days prior to all of this. Libs is also struggling with nightmares and anxiety from everything with Maricel, so this new situation naturally made her spiral, understandably so<33

To add to this, I do want to emphasize that there’s still manipulation and red flags here. The most recent is example is Monroe using the mommy card so Liberty will change her hair. Even Liberty being afraid to tell Monroe about Sarai out of fear that she’ll harm her isn’t healthy.

Yes, we’re understanding Ro more and why she’s like this, but that doesn’t mean this should be normalized, especially not with Liberty. She’s basically an extension of all of us, and how we would react in situations like this. Maybe we would even react to a deeper degree than her.

Monroe has already manipulated her to the degree that she doesn’t want to leave, and Libs even believes Monroe ‘fixed her’ as that was one of Liberty’s thoughts when spiraling in the hallway.

Then there’s the codependency aspect, and separation anxiety was also mentioned in chapter seventy-one. It’s a lot to unpack, and Libs being put in such a difficult environment definitely has an impact too. She’s also younger than Monroe as well, so that’s yet another detail here.
