1. MCU 2. Middle Earth 3. Star Trek 4. Star Wars 5. Mission Impossible 6. DC 7. TMNT 8. Fast & Furious 9. Avatar the Last Airbender 10. Halloween I would swap Halloween for the Evil Dead Universe. I thought Evil Dead was really good and I love Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness so much. The newer Evil Dead movies were good, but my introduction to Bruce Campbell in the first 3 just add so much weight to build up the entire franchise. Oh yeah, the TV series was pretty awesome too. The games weren't too bad, as well as the asymmetric multiplayer that I think was based off of the Friday the 13th version.

My only argument against reading the comic book when an adaptation has been made comes from my experience with The Walking Dead. At San Diego Comic-Con, they had a Walking Dead Experience where you had to avoid zombies and go through various obstacles. The reward for completing it was issue 100 which I made the mistake of thumbing through quickly and saw the death of my then favorite character at the hands of a new antagonist. Several years later, we caught up and they threw out a red herring with another character's death, then they still did a very comic book accurate recreation of that death I feared I would see. I guess I feel differently when the media being adapted was something I had already consumed, such as my knowledge of what occurs in The Last of Us and part 2. It is a weird minefield that I guess we all have our own takes and bias on.
