Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Uncut Watchalong!

What's up, homies! We're excited to revisit the closing entry in phase four, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. This film is a great tribute to Chadwick Boseman's contribution to the MCU, and it gives us a wonderful introduction to El hijo sin amor — Namor the submariner.
I don't think that the MCU will live forever. If tey makle it for another 10, 15 years, it would be quite unbelievable. People will move away from these films, as they have from westerns. It doesn't matter, though, it is beautiful while it lasts, and it's great that they are happening while we are around.

Was the little speech, before T’Challa Jr said his name, about Ramonda meeting him and T’Challa Sr not wanting them revealed at the funeral included in the cinema release? I’m sure that Shuri was called Aunty and obviously he revealed his name but i thought there was some confusion about who knew what when? I would have said that Namor joining the MCU Avengers was out of the question due to his murder of Ramonda BUT how many people have died due to Namor’s actions since his reintroduction in the 60s?

There is a BP:WF podcast hosted by Ta-Nehisi Coates that's streaming now. They cast, crew and Chad's wife give a lot of insights into the production and emotional processes that went into filming WF.

To me the best and most touching parts of this movie are the in memoriam scenes for Chadwick at the beginning and at the end, very well done and I don't remember that any other movie did that for a cast member in such length and with so much love anywhere.

I loved the soundtrack to this movie, I listened to it on repeat for weeks after watching the movie. Interlude by Stomzy made me emotional first time listening because the lyrics are almost in the POV of Shuri. I definitely recommend listening to it!!!

Awesome reaction! This movie doesn’t fail to bring the emotions out for me, every time.
I think Ludwig Göransson was snubbed for the Best Score for BPWF. Shuri’s theme is so poignant to her character frankly could be mistaken for a melody by another famous Ludwig... The "Siren" song was haunting and terrifying, and the sounds for Namor and Talokan were so chilling and breathtaking. Best score of the MCU hands down, and my favorite of last year.
Here’s the letterbox! Love following your lists homies!

I really like Namor until he killed Ramonda. There's no redemption from that. So it's weird to think of him as a Avenger and Suri is supposed to be in Avengers too. He killed her mom! Idk. Tenoch is so fine is messing with my morals. Anyways Wakanda Forever 🤪 damnit.

Hey Guys! That was a lot of fun watching BPWF over again with you. I have been following the Official Black Panther Wakanda Forever Podcast with Ta-nehasi Coates. He did a great interview with the Production Designer Academy Award Winner (I believe she got snubbed this time) Hannah Bechler. Bechler, like she did for Wakanda, created a 200 page "Bible" for Talokan. She goes through how she and her team developed Talokan. Interestingly enough she says that she started with the scene when the Taloknell first enter the water for the first time and she follows the tribe for next 200 years of human history, showing how Talokan developed into the underwater nation it is today. You guys should check it out All the best, Theo.

excited to watch this along with yall! i just wanna say this movie helped me so much with my own grief. i lost my father very suddenly and that opening scene mirrored what we went through with my dad. i DEFINITELY wasn’t ready but seeing everyone’s journey in this film dealing with their own grief helped me heal. ryan knocked this out of the park, the entire cast and crew deserves infinite praises.

This would be my 4th (or 5th?) time watching Wakanda Forever.. the rest was all in theatres yo..
fun fact: prior to the movie release date and when "Lift Me Up" was airing + playing on radio stations to promote the movie, I'd get so emotional and teared up whenever the song comes on.. even in the car with passengers on board.
