The Boys 2x3 Uncut Reaction!

What is up, homies! We're wrapping up what we like to call the first act of the second season of The Boys. The show continues to deliver the goods, build tension and our hatred for Homelander and most of the Supes. It's a great time! Queue up your Amazon Prime and join us.

Stay tuned tomorrow for a BIG Andor drop as we debut the first THREE uncut reactions for the series.

Me, before we see how horrible Stormfront is: "I think I'm going to like this Stormfront character." Me after this episode: "ok, this b^tch gotta DIE!"

I wasn't expecting Stormfront either, very great reveal. Also hope she gets what is coming to her.

This show, especially Hughie's arc in season two, really made me a Jack Quaid fan.

The writer of the source material is Garth Ennis not Warren Ellis lol

i do really love the boys' use of practical effects. the whale interior/exterior was mostly practical and its wonderfully gross

The Corridor Crew guys have done a few videos with some of the crew from the Boys where they break down scenes from the show and how they were shot and done. They did the whale scene if you ever want to check that out when you finish catching up on the show

This episode really does feel like the jumping off point of the season. There are some big revelations and set pieces. If I remember correctly the whale scene was largely practical. At least all the gruesome bits were, which makes it feel so much more real as they're literally wrestling their ways out of big, prosthetic guts. There's a scene I obviously wont spoil in a later season that I think you'll be astounded is largely practical as well. Obviously not common knowledge, but as soon as I heard the name Stormfront, when I first watched season 2, I recognised the reference to the infamous, Neo-Nazi hate site of the same name. The less said about it the better, of course, but yeah, very on the nose for those who might recognise the name.

*** A BIT SPOILERY HERE SO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK*** I 100% agree with Augustin about the Stormfront/Gina Carano vibes - but not just as a character in the show, specifically - it's more like that aspect of the show and real life reflecting each other in a horrible, twisted way. You have a badass, attractive, snarky female newcomer introduced into a publicly-beloved corporate property who then winds up sullying it as their awfulness comes to light - and then finally getting a deliciously righteous comeuppance. Thankfully, Stormfront's actress Aya Cash is a stand-up mensch IRL so we can love her performance without reservation.
