She-Hulk: Attorney at Law 1x5 Uncut Reaction!

What's up, homies! It's been five weeks since we've seen the show (we had early access to the first four episodes), and we're looking forward to jumping in and seeing how the cliffhanger ending with Jennifer's lawsuit from Titania over the She-Hulk trademark resolves.

Make sure you come back for our reaction to the next episode of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and stay tuned next week for the premiere of the new Star Wars series, Andor.

Regarding making it too LA... To me it's more like Easter Eggs for locals. Any time I see a show from a place I've been it's cool, but I have never felt I was missing something in a show because I didn't know the local landmarks.

Being LA "adjacent" down here in San Diego and having made a few trips up that way for various things, I feel I get most of the LA based references and the ones I don't still feel like they are weaved seamlessly into the show and I can still very much enjoy them.

I am just loving the comedy, and I really feel for Jennifer as well. Got to have Hector appear as a potential date in the MCU.

Guys, you should do a quick video on the end credit scene with Nikki and Pug in front of his shoe collection. See how many Marvel characters you can identify from the shoes.

Hector, Thor's roommate Darryl actually has a speaking role in Thor Love and Thunder. To me, that implies the Darryl roommate shorts might be more canon than at first glance.

I think it was Season 3 of Daredevil Melvin Potter gets arrested for parole violation and fighting federal agents

Considering the MCU started in LA but has been primarily based around NYC (and surrounding areas) for over a decade, I love that this show features more LA! Now I just need a case about superhero/villain shenanigans at a local theme park.

I am surprised there have been no Futurama references like Single Female Lawyer or death by SnuSnu. This show has exceeded my expectations and can't wait for next week. With those multiple episode screeners, is there a time limit on how long you can use the link before it no longer works?

I have to agree, and I may be bias living in LA, but I don't think any of the very LA aspects take away from the essential show. I think it is, as you guys said, if you know, you know. If you don't live in LA, the show is great as is, but if you do live in LA, you get that extra level of understanding being an Angelino.

Guys!!! The other sneakers!!!

Many of the people complaining about the show in general are the same sort that love to refer to California as a Marxist hellhole and other similar names, so they can go do things to themselves that I won't say on a family-friendly website.

Adam, why would you put it out there that Pug might turn into a villain? Gah! But in all seriousness, LOVE him and Nikki together. Also, to the whole too inside baseball-ness of the show, I live in Canada and have flown into LA twice to go to Disneyland, so I've seen the airport and the road to Anaheim. It doesn't feel like I'm hugely missing anything, more like there's moments where if you've been there you get that little "oh I know where that is." Like when I watched Tron Legacy, the movie theatre in Vancouver I was in was mere blocks away from the building that he parachutes off in, that was kinda cool but not necessary to enjoy the movie. Best example I can think of.

Oh, Jen. You won at such cost. ๐Ÿ’š

This show makes me laugh so much. Also, something I realised during the "I'm so glad we're friends now" scene is that there's so many times when the writers could have gone for a joke that would elicit secondhand embarassment, but somehow they manage to avoid it. Part of it is obviously Tatiana Maslany's performance, but even moments that don't involve Jen are so good at avoiding the... for lack of a better term... "cringe factor". It's been so refreshing.

Jameela is killing it as Titania and my heart broke for Jen in this episode. Couldn't be any more happy with how this show is going.

Lots of good Easter eggs on the collectible shoe wall. Thing, Cyclops, Nova, Namor, Deadpool, Doctor Doom just for the not yet seen heroes and villains.

I had no idea about any of the LA things. I realized some of it based on your reactions to the Magic Castle and stuff, but I don't think it made much difference to my watching experience. If anything, it still grounds the show, even if it's a city I don't know.

crftd

Totally left field prediction, I think Todd is Frog Man. He is obviously something in the show beyond the date, and the title of the episode is "Ribbit and Rip It". Add to that, his lawyer is in the super human law division.

This show is so gd funny. I legitimately feel sorry for the people choosing to miss out on it based on some of the shit takes I've heard tossed around: "Poor CGI", "Disney hates men", "woke liberal fem agenda!!1!". Gimme more She-HULK!

OleTad

I wouldn't say the show is "too LA" at all - I live in the UK and have been loving the show. It's clear there's stuff I'm missing not knowing LA but since I live in Nottingham if I want local stuff I have 1 or 2 robin hood movies :)

cosmicpirate

I am absolutely loving Tatiana, and this episode Renee Elise Goldsberry was great, but I gotta say Nikki played by Ginger Gonzaga is my favorite every episode and this week was the best so far. LOVE her and the chemistry she has with pug is wonderful!

blehp

I see more people complaining about the tone of the show and there not being enough Lawrer-ing, but not really about the LA- ness. But maybe the LA-ness is part of the tone? IDK - I think it's hilarious and, like Moon Knight and Ms Marvel before it, makes me want to go out and pick up a good intro run of She-Hulk. Hector, as perhaps the biggest She-Hulk stan i've seen on the internet, do you have a recommendation?

rcman

I think this show is great. It continues to be very much a fun time and quite an enjoyable watch. And, as far as the LA-ness of the show, as an East Coast kid, I got all the Magic Castle, pop-up at the Grove, Chateau Marmont, social media influencers, etc. references and they all landed well for me. Sure, as Hector said, it is a little "Inside Baseball", but I feel like so much of that has been highlighted in a great deal of media made over the years (superhero and not) and has entered the pop culture consciousness for us all.
