I make this joke at work about clothes we sell - they make extra small sizes and they make extra large sizes. The people who rip you apart for both liking something too much and at the same time not liking it enough would say something like, "I bet you guys were extra medium sized clothes!"

2022-04-16 01:29:57 +0000 UTCI thought the pacing was fine overall, even if Marc's transformation to Moon Knight and his appearance at the top of one of those pyramid structures was rather abrupt. I'm wondering if they re-edited that final fight sequence after the untimely passing of the actor who portrayed Mogart? Maybe they removed an extra scene featuring Mogart that led to Marc summoning the suit. It sounds like the lines "he's gone" and "where is he?" were added by voice-over in post-production.

I really like trying to look deeper and understand what has created a character (the social worker and ex-English teacher in me! I am just gripped by Oscar Isaac in particular. He is really honouring people who experience DID. With regards to you guys loving it or not, let's face it, life would be super boring if we all thought the same way! I really like listening to your expert viewpoints on series/films we all watch as you open up debate rather then just forcing your views on us. Love you guys. You're the best :)

2022-04-15 05:36:57 +0000 UTCI'm a huge fan of Moon Knight; besides being Jewish like me, the concept of a Superhero with DID the all Egyptian myths explored is right up my alley. in the current run there is a real cool issue that has a great conversation between mark and his shrink about the conflict between Mark's jewish faith and his service to a pagan god.

I do like that it feels very different from everything else we have seen and the acting has been great. That being said, I do want to see where this is going and hope it leads to more Moon Knight in the future. The actor Gaspard Ulliel seemed vaguely familiar from this episode, so I looked him up and saw he was in one of my favorite movies, Brotherhood of the Wolf. I am going to have to rewatch that this weekend.

2022-04-13 20:32:32 +0000 UTCI think having him not be TOO connected to the larger MCU helps Moon Knight. People always say to me "Do I need to watch a bunch of movies to be caught up?" You can jump right into Moon Knight and be fine. You'll of course have no knowledge of Madripoor name drop but so far that's been one of the only nuggets towards the bigger MCU. We do know Blade is coming soonish, there could be a Ghost Rider coming at some point, and dont forget the Werewolf By Night project later this year so Moon Knight could definitely slide right into the Midnight Sons group.

2022-04-13 14:57:56 +0000 UTCI'm actually enjoying the pacing of the show from episode to episode so far. We started slow but has been ramping up I feel in terms of 2 and 3. You're got to see Steven with a V losing his shit in ep2 and in 3 you're at a breakneck action adventure pace with Marc. So what's going to happen in 4 now? Will things slow down again to go back to Steven now considering that ending? Can't wait to find out! 🤣

2022-04-13 09:48:33 +0000 UTCMoon Knight is the first D+ MCU series whose pacing felt so different from the other shows we’ve seen so far. While other series makes six, eight or ten weeks flyby at warp speed, this one feels like you’re walking and allowing ourselves to breathe and totally be present while strolling towards the other end of the gate a.k.a next episode. Although there’s a lot of action over the last three weeks, I feel that I’m grounded in the story and plot reveal without being overwhelmed in anticipation on “what’s next”. Really looking forward to seeing episode four!!!

I will say they completely sold me on Arthur Harrow as a villain in this episode. The mystique around his motives makes his actions compelling and Ethan Hawke’s portrayal just draws you into every word. And Oscar Issacs’ seamless transition in acting between Marc and Steven was outstanding. BTW, so far this native video player has been good. No audio syncing issues like last time.

But I gotta hard disagree with Adam and Agustin about the pacing and direction of these first 3 episodes. I think they are close to perfect. I think that something different is good, and if we want these shows to be the same as hawkeye or Falcon Winter soldier we are asking to be let down. I also think if we are getting a Moon Knight show we should expect some bizarre storytelling devices. I for one love this show so far, and it is right up there with Wanda Vision for me. Also I recognize that not every MCU project needs to be for everyone, (I'm sure the producers want it to be for everyone) but I am happy they have some wiggle room to get weird. Having said all that I absolutely love you guys! You have really made the last year of my life a better one <3 Every new video feels like an invitation to hang out with good friends.
