Zoey Beach Outfit

This multi-state beach outfit from Myumi (with the base sprite done by TiltSHIFT) is for a spring break trip to a Southern California beach.

The post of about the reference sheet for this outfit (drawn by Izumi) gives some details as to its design origins if you haven't seen it already.

As you can see, making all of this modular is a wildly complex task, but thankfully the above reference sheet greatly simplified Myumi's job in drawing everything and having all the parts compatible with each other. In addition to all these states, there's also version not shown here (due to Patreon's TOS about nudity in public posts) with Zoey's breasts laid bare with only the opened (or closed) jacket over them.

While the reference sheet proved very helpful to Myumi, my typical perfectionism demanded that I polished everything up (which is why I haven't posted this outfit despite having the sprites for them for over a month since there was so much to work on).

I just got done editing this outfit in a session lasting well over 12 hours to make changes to things such as Zoey's belt being sleeker and more "tacticool" (it has magnetic quick-release modules that makes a dork like Zach drool over it), making a front hair variant with Zoey's bangs closer towards the center of her chest because the hoodie being up pushes them in that direction (doing this while keeping the raw layers intact for color variants was an incredibly difficult task), adding legs to the sunglasses that were missing them (a frustrating task, as Clip Studio Paint crashed and made me lose the 30 minutes of progress spent figuring out how to do that well), and generally standardizing layer structure (the use case as a visual novel sprite with instant transitions between poses means that any changes in how an outfit works from pose-to-pose are going to be incredibly noticeable).

Honestly, it's shocking to see the versatility of this outfit. With it, Zoey can seamlessly pull off an introvert being dragged to the beach, a former guy groaning internally because she knows she's about to get hit on and doing her best to avoid drawing attention to herself, a tomboy with a sporty attitude and apparel to match, a dorky tourist who over-planned for a beach outing a short distance from her hotel, a shy woman hesitant about expressing her obvious femininity, or a happy college girl living her best life.
