Yeah...i too realised that later...and let's just say that she was among those characters from pop culture who influenced my taste. And the cover art of the Brood War expansion really did not help things back then. :D (my mind contains a lot of less known characters as well from old ass games, so...yeah...those were the days... old people noises )

If you do go a QTGE route, maybe consider sprinkling a few CGs into the existing content? In the first 30 minutes it's basically all sprites, and giving the player a taste or two would make it a lot more fun (IMHO). Adding new content is great, of course, but buffing out what is already there would be a big win.

Hell, I thought a lot about what Hermione would do after the genie left.. how would she react when the old headmaster came back.. Oh wait. That is a great setup for a sequel. I know there's a poll that's got sc34 in the lead but I feel like something new would be more fun to work on. And the possibilities with jak and dexter are huge and barely tapped into by other artists. It would be funny if genie was accidentally swapped with jak like dumbledore in witch trainer and everyone thought he was jak. I'm just spitballing ideas.

Well, more along the lines of getting zerg infestation onboard via some teleport mishap or something and then having the great idea to grab Kerrigan to help out. I know it's a sore spot for you sorry for bringing it forward. I know a lot of the negative reception came from similar criticism that queen trainer faced. The CGs. (Queen Trainer is awesome btw) I know the votes are pointing in the Star Channel direction (especially with QT's secret ending) but honestly an Ashelin game still seems like the better play. Something in a different setting might be nice for you to work on? Idk but as always I'll support you, been here since og princess trainer days ain't changing anytime soon.

That "melancholy of the plot line" brought me a lot of hateful comments back in the day. Kind of rare to hear that somebody actually enjoyed that aspect of those games. I am sure eventually AI will evolve into a tool that I could use, but as it is right now I don't see much application for it. If I can help it I plan to draw the backgrounds myself or commission somebody to draw them for me like I did in the past with SC34. If I have no time or run out of money I could try using AI I guess, but very sparingly because I can always see when a drawing was created by an AI and 99% of the time it doesn't look that good. P.S. You mentioning The Night Dog really took me aback. I didn't even realize it was released publicly at some point. This was just a little DEMO game a wrote to illustrate what you can do with Ren'Py. You mentioning it made me nostalgic. I asked Smersh to send me a copy and had a short playthrough: bought the teaser, saved the girl, ordered sushi, had sex and moved on with my life. Good times. I need to get back to my roots and keep things simple like that. (But with some CGs :) Yes, I want to get back to more straightforward VN-like stuff since it will allow me to be more productive. I still hope to keep a certain level of interactivity in a form of multiple endings.

I completely agree with Trap. I found you because of Hermione, sure, but I honestly don't give a shit about any of the existing IP characters besides her and Iris and that's almost entirely because there's a through-line with the games that keeps the characters I've become attached to. I'm also an already established fan and there is a major portion of people who only care about IP characters from their childhood, but I just want to say there's at least a minority who would support an OG game. I also prefer love routes and less humiliation/sharing but that's just me.

I think a Queen Trainer Gold edition might be too early yet. Maybe leave the project on a backburner once you're satisfied with the state of the game in regards to bug fixes, then keep a notebook with things you would want to add / fix if you got unlimited time. I am, however extremely curious to see if you would come up with something new, or another story you would feel like adapting. Personally I always wanted to see something around lola / lula. I feel like your strongest suit have always been when you get to focus around the corruption / trainer part. The real kicker for me personally in your two best games imo, witch trainer and princess trainer is the combination of corruption aspect with the melancholy of the plotline that eventually has to end.

Ok, just know that we love your games not because they are based on popular things. I've never watched Alladin, never played Ashelin or Lara Croft. You make something very special. I started playing WT because of Hermione, but at the end my favorite bits of the game was drinking wine with Severus in front of the fireplace. Often 18+ VNs go in one of two extremes - it's either just generic midless porn (a lot of western VNs) or romantic story-heavy 50-hours Japanese VNs where hentai feels like собаке пятая нога. But you somehow make games that can be funny, heartwarming, emotional and full of high quality h-energy at the same time! You create such vivid likable characters, such atmosphere - I have no doubts any your original project on Steam would be a hit.

Totally fair. I think the one thing I want to leave you with is that across any game you work on, the biggest reason most of us discovered you and are here is the art, your art specifically. The writing/corruption aspect is a solid second place, but I think it’s fair to say we came for the art and stayed for your character development. As one of your earliest patrons, I think it’s fair to say we have come a long way with QT. You have developed your writing and coding skills so much in the years since PT. It’s a hell of a “game”, and your prowess in those areas has excelled. Many boners for sure, but in terms of actually being able to cum, I think I’m not alone in struggling to finish with mostly just text. If I was to rank the “fappability” of your games, PT:GE ranks far above the rest due to the much higher volume of art assets. It has lots of full CG scenes and scene progression. If the art aspect is still the most enjoyable to you, then I highly encourage you to invest more time in that, be it SC34 or a new trainer. We will all definitely appreciate it! My girlfriend is actually a game developer, and taught me a lot of things- one of those being the concept of a “reskin”, which is simply taking the code/design of a game and porting it to a new setting with very few changes. What if you did that with QT? Basically keep 90% of the code you’ve written, replace the art assets and write new dialog, and create a game that plays the same as QT but with new characters/story/setting? I certainly won’t care that it follows the same gameplay, I’m here to watch my favorite characters get corrupted!

An Ashelin or Lara trainer would be awesome and I'd completely be on board with either (April already got Mating Season), but Star Channel coming back I think is the right choice. It gives all of the characters some content, gives Akabur some freedom expand on the great premise already there in SC, and it gives the fans some steady episode releases to enjoy which would be a welcomed change for a while after the 3 year development of QT.

Yeah.... SC01 felt like it was great.... but the scope got too big to resolve normally and was suddenly curtailed. That also seems like the exact type of problem that won't happen when you make a sequel and you know what you want to avoid from the start. It felt like a great vehicle to introduce tons of loved characters and easily be able to explain things.... but what it wasn't very good at was getting to a destination. It was too easy to add so much that would take way too long to finish. Even with all that.... it's still my favorite... if for no other reason than seeing Ashelin salute in a topless military uniform. A man of culture, indeed.

Yeah, I was quite exhausted by the end of season 1. Which is odd, considering that it's structure allowed me to add new content relatively easy. The problem was that it never felt finished. That being said starting season 02 is much easier than planning a whole new trainer game right after I just finished one. Decisions, decisions... Oh well, that is exactly why I decided to post this poll. Thank you for the input.

Agreed. The only problem with SC that I personally have is that it never felt like my work is really done. With QT it took 3 years, but at least for a couple of days after the release it felt like I am finally done with it, with SC it's like never ending conveyer belt. That being said there are many good things about the whole SC setup that I like, including these with which I can add all sorts of content and character is too it. Also you could play dress up with the character dolls :)

BTW, just some thoughts - probably, some part of patrons (including old ones) unsubscribed after QT release if they were not happy with it. Probably, their votes would shift poll towards option 3 or 2. I mean, yeah, they unsubscribed, so one may call them "traitors" or whatsoever, and ignore their opinion, but they still may be Aka fans, just unhappy with latest game, and will potentially return. Personally I think Queen Trainer gold edition might be too soon to at the moment, and I’m torn between the other 2…Season 2 of Star Channel looks very attractive (😅 though I am a little worried that the project will drain you physically just like last time you worked on it) But an April Oniel, Lara Croft, or an Ashelin Trainer has a promising Temptation I personally wouldn’t be able to resist (🤤 I always thought April Oniel was hot)

The granular corruption in Witch Trainer will always be my favorite, at least it felt very nuanced to me. A simpler setting with more emphasis on changing reactions and faces to repeated tasks. And witnessing your progress through the outfits from tame to ridiculously slutty was so much fun. I would have liked to play dress up doll for hours… well maybe I did.

Creating some sort of old-school retro vibes would be interesting, considering the other characters from the universe in your style. It is a really tough call - so many nice characters and games to chose from. Star Channel S02 makes sense, it would bring everybody something and the episodes were still well done. I wouldn't mind seeing where the Ashelyn + Lara and Captain story goes! In addition, I remember it as you being able to release every 2-3 months, think an approach like that would be good after QT.

Queen Trainer Gold for sure! All that it needs is more art. Everything else in the game is excellent, but without visuals for so much of the game just makes it way too difficult to complete the “educational” objective of the games. I thought that your favorite part of the whole process was the art, but it really feels like you made yourself suffer so much with the amount of coding and writing and a nice “break” for the next half year or more just working on art assets. That’s also a smaller thing than any of the others, so it would be better to get that out of the way and be fully ready to move on.

I'm referring to Queen Trainer for the examples in the comment above. Also, I think that what really made WT fun and interesting for me was that it was a corruption story where most of the hotness (for me at least) came from seeing the girl's face and attitude to her retelling of her missions change over time, from serious, strict and dismissive, to eventually blushing and smiling slyly with a horny alutty attitude. Subtle stuff like a blushing smile could be enough to make it hot that she was telling about giving a hand job during class or whatever. I really don't mean to disparage your hard work and fantastic craftsmanship. I just don't want you to spread yourself too thin, if that makes sense.

Star Channel IMO have a lot unused potential. First iterations with Ashley and her daddy was something else! More interactions with ship itself would make deeper immersion. Also unlocking new dances next to outfits. Outfits in dance area. Sneak peak to rooms on ship. Man options are endless. Also thought about dialogues like in Hades, everytime you would sneak peak there would be new dialogue. I know. Lot of work ;)

Probably you had enough programming and complicated planning for the last 3 years, so maybe personally you would also want to have something with more streamlined development. And I just want to see what happens in ST34! That was the greatest cliffhanger in the history of video games! ST34 Season 2 doesn't have to be a linear VN, but something smaller in scope, something more focused than QT, closer to WT - which was a "game" with mechanics, stats, but focused and limited in scope - and I think that's what makes it many people's favorite.

Situationally, Star Channel was such a good setup. Having the ladies be suddenly interviewed and broadcast lends itself to such good content. I'm not saying that you should do another Star Channel.... but anything that has that type of public-facing element is beautiful.... Should it even be a "trainer" game. April O'Neil being a reporter lends itself to this. So could Ashelin if it contains a regular "Address the troops" segment.

Tbh I'd like to see something smaller in scope again (like witch trainer) that can be higher in quality for the main path and maybe also mean you can focus on a shorter project and stress less. WT remains my favorite game of yours and I think it's in no small part that you have both the chibi gal and the detailed fullbody illustration on the screen during the scenes with the girl. Lots of scenes in these latest games are hot af and fun in the idea/concept/writing of the scenes but the visual reward aspect is kind of missing or lacking. Like, for example, it's awesome that there's all these exploration things you can do in Agrabah and the clubs and people you can encounter, but many if not most of them don't even have a simplified chibi version of the naughtiness going on, meaning you don't get the visual reward that could otherwise keep the interest going. We've got a bunch of poses for the girls and beautiful quest-end illustrations, but the quest progression that will lead there offers less in terms of visual reward and variety, meaning things can end up feeling grindy and repetitive quicker, despite you putting a lot of effort and work into the game.

By now I am well aware that somehow Ashelin has managed to gather quite a following. I better give people what the want I guess. Good think I am all up for it myself XD I love the Jak universe and it would be interesting to explore it more.
