169 - Looks Like a "Yay".
Added 2021-04-26 12:01:02 +0000 UTCHi, guys. First of all big thanks for participating in the WT remaster discussion. There were quite a few comments, a lot of people shared their thoughts, both here on Patreon and on my Discord. Second of it seems like the vast majority is all for (or at least wouldn't mind) a WT remaster.
That being said, many of you also said that WT remaster is not necessarily what they absolutely need, but if it's something I feel like working on I should do it. I hear you guys, and I appreciate the freedom you give me.
Now what? Well first I need to finish Ep12. After that hope to start working on a short fun project that I think you'll appreciate and if all goes well it shouldn't take me too long to finish and release. For now let's call it Project Janitor. And only after that is done I will be making the final decision about WT remaster. Well, that's the plan in any case.
The work. I was hoping to be done with the re-writes by the end of the week but alas it's Monday already and I am not done yet. Don't worry though, everything is under control. I'll just have to spend a few more days writing. (I am talking about SC34 Ep.12 of course, it's still my current and only project).
That's it. Don't have much to report otherwise. Again thank you for taking a part in the WT discussion. And thank you for the support of course. See you all next Monday :)

Give yourself a good challenge, but make sure it's not going to stress you out! And always remember to plan for delays lol. Nothing ever works out on time, and if it does, you can always use the spare time for polishing things! Also, glad you're back in the saddle!

2021-04-26 14:05:45 +0000 UTCSuggestion from a guy who works in the world of professional software development-- come up with a realistic (i.e. padded) timeline for the "short" Project Janitor and make it the independent variable. In other words, it's not allowed to change; other things have to change instead. Go ahead and work out things like "If by week 1 I am not done with the writing, then I will cut out X. if by week 2 I am not done with the sketching, I will cut Y." (No idea how your process works, but you get the idea.) The important thing is that you absolutely have *something* finished at the stated deadline, even if it is crap. You can then release it (either publicly or just to some select beta testers), get feedback, and then decide if it is worth spending more time on. But the important thing is sacrifice quantity, sacrifice quality, sacrifice features-- sacrifice anything but time. Adjustments to the schedule should only happen during planning phases, not during development phases. This helps you avoid the sunk-cost fallacy, and lets you make better decisions.
