055 - The Dudes In Charge Of All Of Our Boners.

According to statistic (that I just made up): about 99.8% of all (non-actual-woman) things that give you boner were created by dudes. Comics, Games, SFM clips, you name it. Actually I myself am on of those boner-provider dudes, aren't I? No, seriously, just think about it for a second: I work tirelessly to give all of you guys boners... That's, well... That's... Right, erm... No, you know what, forget what I just said. Forget it, and let's never talk about this again. Moving on. Another Monday Post incoming! Namaste!
Akabur did an oopsie? Apparently, in the previous Monday Post I shared a photo of one of my patron's ex-wife. Here is hoping the girls above are not somebody's mother and sister or something... (That would be pretty cool though.)
The work. So, it's been 11 weeks since Episode 04's release. (Imagine hysterical laughter here). This past week was quite productive though and I did manage to finish working on almost all the art assets. The beginning of this week marks the next step of development: events assembly.
Episode 05 when? So, here is the thing: I completely misjudged the amount of effort (and time) I thought this episode would take me. A couple of weeks ago I even toyed with an idea of cutting part of episode 05 and moving it to the next episode, but decided against it, since that would hurt the story flow. (Yes I know that most of you don't mind the delay and I am eternally grateful for your patience).
Episode 06 when? Now, missed deadlines aside, I want you to know that I am determined more than ever to release next episode in tw... Urm... Whoa, I almost mentioned an actual time unit there. Whew, that would've been catastrophic to say the least. The official release date is Coming Soon* of course.
New plan! Just hear me out for a sec, this is a fail-proof plan, I assure you. What if with Ep.06 I were to aim for a super small episode that would take very little time to develop. So that even if I miss the deadline I will still end up with a much shorter development window. Pretty damn brilliant, right? Yes, yes I know, I am an under-appreciated genius with revolutionary ideas. ^^ Jokes aside though, Episode 05 took me way longer then I thought it would, so I will need to reevaluate a lot of things going into development of Ep.06.
The Pics. A banch of pictures from when I was helping out Smersh with his Grim City project. Nothing too special but I think some of you may still get a kick out of these. I plan to share a lot more of old pics like this and also some working files (like PSDs and such) from my old projects (PT, WT, ect.) in the future so stay tuned for the upcoming Monday Posts ^^ Also these are 100% SFW so there will be no patreons-only post this week again. The files are in the attachment.
Teaser time! So, dig this! In episode 05 genie will be getting not one but TWO new outfits! Like I said I just finished working on most of the major art assets so I can share some sneak peeks with you. Let me present to you: Genie The Bodyguard! Who's body will he be guarding? Find out in episode 05! ^^ (Nobody cares much for Genie's outfits anyway so I don't think I'm soiling much here.)

However I do work in the software industry and if I could give any advice based on my experience with agile and waterfall development. I would just pick a window, if you say Q2 episode 6, the mean you have until the close of that window if need be. You have a target to dive through without picking a date specifically and you can lengthen or shorten the window if need be. For example if you release e6 mid Q2 that leaves you until the end of Q3 to make a larger e7. Again, not an artist nor do I workflow.

2019-02-18 12:15:32 +0000 UTCI would appreciate it more if we had to wait longer for an episode but for this it would come as a huge package of new story/event/clothing content that keeps the player busy for one to a few hours rather than small updates. Like I played through the last episode rather fast. It was nice, but had to end eventually. But that is just my opinion. Appreciate every bit of your work. Love you, Akabur ♥
