Granny

My Granny was battling a long streak of battles against cancer. She fought bravely since 1997 when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer, then another one after 5 years and just recently with a melanoma located in her left eye. At the end of the 2021 doctors diagnosed her with lung cancer which piled up with nerve damage affecting her left hand and trachea. This was a fight she couldn't handle and by the age of 76 she left this world.

Zofia was a strong woman. Born at the end of the WW2 she fought against things she shouldn't have. She always knew how to turn a bad hand into something beautiful. Animals loved her deeply, and she always claimed that she must have been a dog in her past life. She had a deep care for plants, a beautiful garden she restlessly cared for with passion and drive. She built a house with her partner who cared for her for the last 37 years. They had amazing stories from many trips they've been to all across Poland. When I was a child it was her who took every moment she could to take me away from an abusive household. When I was 2 she taught me a beautiful rhymed poem which I remember till this day - one of the only memories I have from my childhood. Through out the last years of her life we met every week to play cards together, snacking on fruits and watching some Turkish drama in TV airing at 2pm. She made the best pancakes with sweet cottage cheese and strawberry sauce. She never let anyone leave her house hungry. Her bright personality made everyone leave with a smile. I loved her and I felt loved. Rest in peace my dear Granny. 

Right now I need to recover and take care of people who were left out with a hole in their heart. Thank you for your patience everyone, I will be back by the end of the month.
