Further tests of magical crayon and some chill sketching

After few sketches done with this multicolor crayon, I must admit it takes a lot of practice to actually achieve expected results. It's really hard not to make the lines muddy while searching for a right angle of the lead pressed against the paper. Another note is that i definitely had to press the crayon harder than I'm used to and is almost impossible to erase unwanted lines or mistakes. Even though i really enjoy the vibe of rainbow lines, switching back to my mechanical pencil made me quickly realise how stiff and less dynamic magical crayon sketches feel.

The other thing is that three of the colors (yellow, red and blue) have different values. I can see it both as a pro and a con. It's nice to be able to "blend" the colors while crosshatching but i caught myself on avoiding the yellow since it was barely visible on the white sheet of paper.

I may be spoiled by always sharp lead of the mechanical pencil because i found it slightly annoying after a while to see the lines get less and less crisp.

As of now, I will try to make some more tests, sharpen the crayon and think more about the usage of colors. But I can already tell that i will not suddenly switch and stop using my usual tools. Drawing with rainbow crayon definitely gives me a lot of inspiration and joy, but i'll keep it as an occasional variety.
