Gameboy Megamachine Jam From tomorrows video!

FINALLY!!! iironned out the problems i had been facing. it was down to my module that sent voltages into an arduino which adjusted midi CC's in parameters in the gameboys, turns out i had them all set way way too sensitively, that even a bit of noise on the power rails would send out way too much information, causing the gameboys to drop out or play duff notes, Now i have reduced the resolution of these knobs and the problem has gone! WOOO.

heres a part of tomorrows video, it's a live one, so you can really hear how adding modulation and detuning the gameboys can make the whole thing sound pretty darn phatttttt.

Ill include a download of this tomoz too :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

as for the gameboys naa as they all go down to a satereo filter. as a voice would. but fair dooz! yeah i record everything multitrack anyways!! ;D

Just an idea. Not that this was poorly mixed or indeed are any others. Just would be nice if you got your tracks down onto multis, I guess. For re-imagining, remixing, remastering when you are older and have more fans, who will pay money to hear your tracks remastered in 386000kHz 128bit quality 17.1 surround or whatever it will be.

Not each gameboy separate? ;-) Yeah, I probably wasn't prompted to write that by this track, but by others: some of your other tracks seem a little more track heavy.

yeah multitrack :) i mean this was just 3 tracks, gameboy left right and vocals!

in this recording, the LED of the arduinoboy is just triggering a envelope into the output filter, filters are nice! however gameboys output is a lot quieter than synths so may need boosting, i probably will do so. as for them! yeah who knows, ive got a lot of the shops like kitsch and deadpan quite excited by the project, chatted to sabrepulse recently about it, he thinks its pretty mad, but who knows till the end product!!!

Sounds awesome! Just love it! You're the kind of person for whom the word artist was created (not exaggerating haha)! And happy new year ;)

Hnnng this is sick man. I would love to hear your findings on the best way to integrate a game boy with other analog modules like filters and vca's and such. Edit: I'm super surprised none of the established chip tune guys are making buzz about this. When the project is done you should definitely tweet at Trey Frey and Bit Shifter and Sabrepulse and the like.
