2025-06-18 15:51:40 +0000 UTCI love this discusión I think there is much to say about the commodification of artists. Elliot I’m not sure if you saw Shanspeare video but she reiterated what you said about media training be a misogynistic dog whistle. The best concert I’ve been to recently was a free concert where I got to meet Ebo Taylor and it changed everything for me. I had a genuine spitball and emotional journey. I cried while I was there because I was so touched to be in a space with a living legend I’ve never known and be so proud and happy and grateful to be there. I’ve been offline since musky bought Twitter and I just felt like I knew where the digital realm was going and I no longer wanted to be apart of it. A lot of hate that these young queer fems get is manufactured. Via Stan Twitter and The media wanting to sensationalize everything they say. Being offline has made me see how much the internet can warp your mind. Every once in awhile I’ll see an artist I used to not like via Twitter and I’d ask myself why did I dislike this person? It would always be something so petty and small and It makes me so ashamed sometimes that I kept myself away from engaging with really good art because I saw a bullshit analysis blow out of proportion on something so small and trivial. I dj now as a hobby and it’s been one of the best ways for me to engage in music. I’ve expanded my music genres and I’ve been working on my ear and defining my own taste and style. This really is such a great and meaningful discussion and I’m so glad I got see this!
