Workflow and plans for the near future

Hello, everyone!

I wanted to first prepare a presentation on the project I am currently working on, but I often get personal messages asking about the status of the project. Therefore, to keep you informed I will write small posts about the process of working on the project.

Today the presentation will not be, because the files are not collected on the engine of the game, so I will tell you briefly about the situation at the moment.

As you know, the war had a big impact on the project and we are still experiencing a lot of difficulties.

I don't want to touch on the political agenda, so let's get past this awful moment.

Before the war started, back in the days of Covid, I was working on a major update to the current version of the game.

The update added new characters to the game, it was also supposed to make it possible to switch to a householder (because the game did not allow to change the gender of the player and we decided to make it possible to change the character altogether. This makes it very easy to work on the game files because would not have to redo all the animations and files).

Also a major part of the update was to be an additional NPC who would hunt in the wilds of Pandorium and catch the local natives. This would open up new tribes and explore the world.

But because of the whole world situation, the update had to be postponed. As you know, some of our developers are in the midst of events and it is not easy for men to leave the country during wartime.

For this reason we have temporarily postponed the update of the game files.

At the moment the game is maintained technically and will remain active until the situation with the war changes for the better.

Now about the project I'm working on.

I decided to make a separate addition to Pandorium, not as an update, but as a full-fledged game.

It's based on the update I was working on at the time of Covid.

Events take place in the same place as the main part of the game. But not in the main colony, but in a pirate camp. (I did this to not disturb the main part of the game).

You play as the same hunter who has to catch different kinds of local inhabitants. You can dreser creatures and keep or sell them to Rourke's agents.

I won't get into gene mixing and hybridization because it has to do with the main game, but you can fuck pretty much anyone you want. Even a robot, if that's what you like.

There will be a few technical conventions for this, but I'll explain and show you how it will work later.

I'll also add the ability to build houses (you can create your own camps if you don't want to live in a common camp).

The world will be conventionally open.

At the initial stage, I will limit myself to a small area so as not to delay the process of releasing the game. Later on, the territory will be expanded to introduce new creature types into the game.

I also want to inform you that the game is created on the Unreal Engine 5. Adobe does not support its products and making this project on it would be unwise.
UE5 gives a good foundation and I understand it.

In the initial stages, the project will be implemented only for the computer version.

The mobile version will be tested, but I'm not sure that the phone can handle a lot of graphics. This I will check after the stable version of the game comes out.

What stage of the game?

The project is currently at the build stage. That is, the basic models of buildings and objects are ready and assembled in the game world.

It's a boring process, but it must be experienced.

The AI logic and quest system are already tested and working. I'll probably disable some features for faster launch and add them in separate packs for new NPC types.

I plan to release the first part of the project early next year.

Anyway, I will write about the progress every week, and you will have plenty of time to check out the graphics and gameplay of the project.

Have a great day! See you soon!
