Fansigns
Added 2024-10-16 20:52:18 +0000 UTCI've been thinking lately about the fansigns. I knew they'd always kind of be a bit of a hurdle. I know that the answer may be biased because the people that only subscribed to get a sign might not still be here.
I have another batch of signs being edited right now, also.
With how many there are at a time, it begins to feel more like a quantity over quality thing. I want to always put my heart and soul into the pics I do, but the signs feel more like just a mass-produced product I'm selling. In a way, they are. I'm not sure if it's the way I want to go about my content. It makes me not want to promote my Patreon as well because I know there's a possibility of it causing of influx of joiners and I'll be swamped. I'm trying to take them more frequently so I don't have as many to do at a time, but I'm getting burnt out from that too. Even doing it more frequently still means I have 20 - 50 to do at a time. Overall, a decent amount of pressure/expectation comes from doing them. Patreon is also weird with how it shows new joiners. Oftentimes I don't get emails or notifs for some new people, so they get left out if I don't see them in the members list.
But I'm also aware of the immediate reward that the signs provide for the $10 tier. It feels nice to give thanks in a personalized way, but I didn't anticipate how popular the $10 tier would be. Also, if I ever stopped doing $10 signs, I would keep doing the $50 ones.
I want to conduct a poll to see how people feel.
So, my question is, did you find the idea of a fansign to be important when you chose the $10 tier?

If the influx will burn you out on an assembly line of the product, change the direction to something else. Do what you want! We're here to support YOU!!!

2024-10-17 18:45:33 +0000 UTCI joined to support the cosplays and the genuine effort you put into everything and I decided on $10 in my head before I had even seen the tiers. I didn't actually expect the signs to involve the cosplays and editing that you do. It adds some exclusivity with each batch being different and I appreciate mine! BUT it'd be a shame if all your creative energy went towards only that and got sapped because of it. You're justified to rethink the idea.
