I think it’s great that Tsubakihara was so nonchalant about the first year pinch server failing, especially their captain and setter, Echigo (the guy with the buzz cut). Echigo is another one of those really good captain characters who is always shown dispersing the team’s nerves and keeping a cool head.

This probably won't win any polls in the near future, but Ping Pong: the Animation is a 11 episode show that handles a lot of the same themes from both Haikyuu and San Gatsu while also feeling very unique. As you probably guessed, it's about high school aged Ping Pong athletes and the trials of breaking into a highly competitive professional world. Hearing that you have some ping pong knowledge makes me want you to see it even if you don't film reactions.

the ‘this is… nationals’ line always gives me chillssss. so cool to see himekawa’s perspective of karasuno. they’ve truly come so far

Goodwin talking to himself is wild

That reminds me of those aloe drinks. I actually do feel like I go to them when I want something a little more substantial than just a liquid. And man that serve is WILD! The amount of spin on that must be unreal

That's insane :D

2:55 Yeah, the "gelatin" thing... I don't know if these exist outside Japan, but it's very common in sports to have these things called "drinkable jelly" (nomu zerii) where it's like a sports drink with electrolytes, but feels more substantial than just water. There's a whole thing with not wanting to eat real food since that would make you feel bloated or tired, but then also wanting to avoid feeling hungry, so these are supposed to be like a best of both worlds. It's basically like having non-alcoholic jello shots out of a Capri Sun squeeze pack. https://www.dohouse.co.jp/post/18538/ What Japan calls a "ceiling serve" is called a "skyball serve" in English. It was actually (allegedly) invented in Japan in the early 1980s for indoor play, but it's much more common and effective now for beach volleyball because 1) you have only two players per side, 2) the sun, 3) the wind, 4) the lack of any ceiling or upper limit to height. There's an Italian player known as "Mr. Skyball" who does them a lot, and it's much trickier than it looks, even for pros: https://youtu.be/j72CQD9imSY 20:48 Little subtle, but I love how you can see with Hinata's decoy that the middle blocker #8 on Tsubakihara had jumped to go for Hinata, and he was on his way down when Asahi hit it, so Asahi had basically no blockers.

Maybe someone already mentioned but it will always blow my mind that Takeda-sensei VA is also Levi
