Anyways, that was part 2. Not as good as part 1 in my opinion, but solid. The next season is going to f-ing rock.

2023-01-09 20:41:48 +0000 UTCDef a slowburn, yeah. Doesn't bother me, coz I'm here for the characters and comedy, but I see how it can get frustrating sometimes. Every once in a while something drastic will slap you in the face to remind you it's also a serious story about war and spies, but for the most part it's background noise. I'm caught up with the Manga, but I still couldn't tell you if it's set up for later or just a cool concept. *shrugs* Admittedly, I think not that much time has actually passed yet in-story, maybe a couple of months? So that somewhat accounts for the slow progress.

2023-01-09 14:15:00 +0000 UTCI 110% empathize with feeling like we're being made to wait for something to happen, for any of the chess pieces to make a real move, and also increasing unease with Twilight's emotional distance from everyone, since it's not clear if it's hurting Yor and Anya or not at this point. Hopefully that gets some resolution soon. As for the interaction, though, a lot of those self-deprecating statements and offers to bring apology gifts to the home are, in Japan, perfunctory greetings. Loid sounded like someone copy-pasting textbook interactions, and including the personal information is a common way people use to try to build relationships on forgiveness despite the (again, largely performative, perfunctory) displays of vulnerability. So, the speech wouldn't have been totally out of place in that context, although it's certainly really weird in Europe-ish where there's not anything close to those social expectations. 🤔
