In Demon Slayer 1x3, Sabito and Makomo, in an episode spanning more time than all 5 seasons of My Hero Academia, Kawaii Demon naps for the plot's convenience and givesTanjiro time to find out if he even can learn to breathe.

I always vote for dubs. It's the only way I can consume Anime. (Thanks visual impairment) Also it seems to play better in reactions. Having said that. This and Attack on Titan. There is one Eng dub VA in each show. That... Is not good. Make your ears bleed, kind of bad. So I totally get the switch to sub. I've seen the Demon Slayer dub enough times that I can follow this and I'm curious what this particular characters original VA sounds like. It's my friend's favourite character in the show. He couldn't wait until I got to the part where this Character was introduced. I honestly didn't get the love though. I got the character, I mean the dub is not that bad. However I was assured that the OG VA vastly improves the person as a whole. So I am looking forward to finding the love through these reactions.

My Sensei would have us just drill stuff like that constantly, and it was always very hard work. That training sticks with you too; even later now I'm not nearly as in shape as I was then, the moves are just pure muscle memory at this point.

This convention seems to be really popular in anime, like in Dragonball there is like a 2-3 year timeskip for every Budokai tournament.

Yuki Kaji really chose parkour for roles. He's played several, a complex protagonist, a harem protagonist, an angsty half cold half hot quirk bearing teenager, I've heard him in countless things and he plays them all perfectly

I just think people that thought the dub was burning their ears(paraphrasing) were exaggerating and a little silly about it imo. I appreciate how you tend to glean value and worth in episodes that are majorly training and refinement of abilities and enjoy them as much as more action packed episodes. It's what makes your analysis of shows refreshing.

There is no chakra or one for all or founding titan or anything like that. Every ability available to the demon slayers could be achieved by anyone. They’re all just sword techniques, with enough training and work any person could rise through the ranks of the Demon Slayers.

Characters in shows like MHA and Black Clover also talk about being 'manly' all the time, so it must just be cultural.

After watching both versions I’m not sure if there’s any reason to watch the movie version now beyond I guess all in one convince? Which isn’t really all that convenient for a reaction channel to do lol

I'm sure it'll be expounded upon in future episodes. Also I love the Eren-Sabito voice actor recognition. Yuki Kaji is an incredible voice actor in my opinion, he has so much range!

2022-02-06 02:45:45 +0000 UTCTanjiro was only 13 when his family was slaughtered so I guess the 2 year time skip serves as a way to age him up a little. It reminds me a the 3 year time skip we got with the cadets in AOT. Real training takes a lot of time.

2022-02-06 02:44:03 +0000 UTCI actually really hate sabitos first lines in this episode in the original language, he talks about baring his suffering in silence if he’s a man and it’s just like…really? Like if tanjiro was a woman would he even okay with how tanjiro was acting? Would sabito treat a woman differently in this scenario? The dub changed the line to “a demon slayer bares his suffering in silence” and idk that just makes so much more sense to me, since that’s what tanjiro is training to be, and kinda paints a picture in your head how hard the profession is, instead of some generic tough guy manhood stuff. Not to try and start a needless sub vs dub debate, that’s like the only line difference between the two versions that ever stood out to me like this lol

One thing that stands out to me in this show is that the pacing is phenomenal. I'm very jealous that you're going to be able to binge 2 seasons and a movie worth of content. I'm so excited for this ride! No matter what people say about Demon Slayer, no one can deny that Ufotable are top tier. Every single episode in S2 is movie quality. Also, I always love when series tease characters by just having them look like people you haven't unlocked in games yet.
