Demon Slayer SUB OR DUB?

I prefer the sub for most animes. The excessive yelling somewhat is less awkward in Japanese than in English LOL

Like most people have already said, you should choose whichever you prefer Goodwin. However, I think for a reaction, DUB is going to be way easier and more convenient to react to, in my opinion. I think you'll have a better experience and immersion with the DUB but honestly up to you. I will say this, the DUB is better than what people have been saying.

I'm usually a Subs person. Mostly the english Dub is not good, with the exception of FMAB and My Hero. But what ever suits you. I just think its like watching an old Chinese Martial Arts Movie with English dub bad.

Whatever works for you. I personally think the Japanese voice actors are far superior to the English ones. The dub also dumbed down some of the comedic moments and I don't really like the casting that much. I don't think the second season has even been dubbed in English yet so you would have to switch to sub at some point anyway. But the dub is definitely not the worst.

Ultimately it’s preference. But the dub adds to the vibe of the show. It’s so clean and having the original VA makes it flow better imo

Personally I've watched a fair few reaction channels and I've found that the person/people reacting do a far better job when watching Dub, since they aren't having to commentate whilst reading/watching/understanding a show, the amount of comments on subbed Youtube reactions too you tend to see a lot of annoyed people stating things that were missed during the reaction, so my personal vote is for Dub

lots of interesting takes and talks going on in the comments in regards to sub v dub, so i might as well say my piece too. for a very long time all i watched was dubs, its what i grew up watching on mainstream tv in the uk, and because of that its what i chose to watch when i branched out to other anime online as well. there are many talented VAs in english dubs, and many anime that have incredible dubs that i love, fullmetal alchemist for instance. So I certainly don't have anything against dubs, and still enjoy them here and there. I only recently turned to watching subs more regularly, not including the shows I've watched in sub purely because they were never dubbed in english. It was My Hero season 4 that moved me to subs, not because the dub was bad (it is most definitely one of the better dubs there is), but because of delays. Originally season 4 aired its subs and dubs simultaneously, so I could jump straight into the dub without being behind. But maybe a quarter of the way into that season, the dub had to fall behind (I think the reason was covid, but can't remember for certain), and I decided I didn't have the patience to wait, as once it was behind, it wasn't going to catch up until the season was already over in sub format. Since then (only the last couple of years), I have changed to more of a subs person, as it means I can get my fix of new seasons sooner. The latest season of Demon Slayer for instance, still hasn't received its dub, but is already something like 8 episodes in. So all that said, it doesn't actually correlate to my reasoning for why I prefer sub to dub in this particularly instance. There is one voice actor they chose for this show, who I just can't get behind. I find his voice distracting and it takes me out of the experience. Simple as that unfortunately, and it just feels compounded upon because the sound of that character's japanese VA always gives me tingles. it looks like the poll is most certainly heading towards Sub currently, and I definitely wouldn't hold anything against anyone that does prefer the Dub, as it isn't bad by any means. So whichever way it goes, and whichever way any future shows go, the only real important thing is that you enjoy the show and your experience watching it. We're here to see your reaction and hear your thoughts, and those things will always come out best when you are enjoying yourself the most.

I will always prefer dub over sub because it's easier to connect to something when I understand it and the inflections are ones I can read well but the people have spoken. Aww you're gonna miss out on Bryce's Inosuke. You should at least watch his first few eps of him in dub for yourself. The English cast is so charming. lol I'm just glad MHA is in dub so I can dig back into that later this year!

I just wanna say I know its late to vote or even advocate for Dub since I am a big dub watcher. I just wanna say my peace with the fact that the DUB Isn't that bad despite what others say. I hear the same Arguments all the time on why the Sub is some how better "Better Voice Acting" Which isn't even the original interpritation of the Source Material; First and formost, Most Animes start off as a Manga the characters don't come drawn in with voices they(The voice actors) have to be given their own Spin off the Dialogue that is written by the actual author of the Manga. So to say that is more "Authentic" is a bit disingenuous IMO. Also One Big Reason why I believe alot of hate comes to the Dub Community is because it is MUCH easier to tell when something doesnt' sound correct when its your own Native language. Alot of the way anime characters talk to each other actually isn't even how Japanese people actually talk to each other or hold simple conversations. I don't have time to go threw specifics but as a Spanish Speaker I would say its like watching a Telenovela and talking to some one like that in real life in spanish isn't the same. To end this comment I would say Goodwin you should watch what you want to watch I know you wanna please your Paterons but Just watch what ever version appeals to you be it sub or dub, one thing I love about you is your authenticity. Us Paterons will love you no matter what cause I don't come hear to listen to watch the anime(most of which ive already watched)I come here to learn and be open minded about Ethics,Philosphy,Life to better myself and I will continue to do so No matter what version you watch.

I was honestly surprised with how much I enjoyed the MHA dub (sub is still better imo) but this is a show where the dub just doesn't compare whatsoever. Like AOT, this needs to be watched in sub.

for me personally the demon slayer SUB is superior to the DUB. it’s not like MHA where i think the DUB is on a similar level to the SUB, the demon slayer SUB is just better in my opinion. i don’t know why but i just don’t like tanjiro’s DUB voice (also another main character’s voice but no spoilers hehe). like when you dislike the main characters’ voices it just makes it hard to watch tbh, like don’t get me wrong i wouldn’t call the DUB straight up trash, like there are rarely any DUBS in the recent years that can be considered pure garbage, but from my point of view the demon slayer DUB is really just inferior to the SUB. like at the end of the day, ofc watch the one you want to watch but i’m just saying the SUB was a better experience for me, at least.

i wouldnt let random anime viewers effect your likelihood of watching new shows. There are tons of horrible fans in the MHA and AOT fanbases. This has 0 influence on how I view or enjoy the show myself though, because my experience with the series is unique to me and myself only. Thats just my mentality with this type of thing anyways, if I let fans of shows dissuade me from things I would have nothing to watch at this point lmao.

For any anime I watch, the default for me is always sub just cos I feel it’s more authentic and Japanese voice actors rarely miss even if the show is trash, UNLESS I specifically hear about a show where the dub is like superior in a rare instance like FMAB or Cowboy Bebop

I voted sub but I know a lot of people like sub for this one but I think what people need to understand is that you give a lot of details on character development most of the time instead of overall action at least that’s what it seem like to me so if I were you I would go dub so you can focus on the characters more

I’m honestly a bigger dub fan than the vast majority of people I’ve seen/spoken to and I rarely ever do care enough about the difference to actually recommend one over the other for most shows, but the sub for this series is infinitely times better than the dub. Jujutsu Kaisen is another one of those rare cases. Mob Psycho, MHA, etc etc. dub all the way. But not for demon slayer lol

Several dubs nowadays are really good, especially for people who prefer them. However, I think the Demon Slayer one is just 'kind of okay,' and if you can watch either, the sub is a lot better. If you ever watch Haikyuu!, it also falls under that category, where the sub is a better watching experience overall, but the dub isn't bad for those who prefer not to read and watch at the same time. On a semi-related note, an example of an unacceptable viewing experience in a dub in comparison to the sub would be AoT, lol
