2022-06-10 17:19:24 +0000 UTCI think what they mean by fragility is sensitivity. Yuki has a sensitive kindness, and is naturally empathetic. Recall to when he and Haru first met; how Yuki responded to Haru's aggression not by recoil and throwing venom back, but with a kind of sympathy and serenity.

Funnily enough I got this quote from someone on the subreddit for OCD: "Do not resist the thoughts, let them be there. Embrace them. Do not be afraid of them. Leave the logical reasoning and embrace the madness. Dont be afraid. Lay down and relax on the water of thoughts. They are just thoughts. If you relax, you will swim, if you are tense, you will drown. Embrace it, if you practice embracing the thoughts, they will lose meaning with time, they will fade away. You will forget them. This skill of embracing is just like any other skill. It can be mastered with time and persistance." That's not the full message but I've been using it as a way to think of my own negative thoughts. It's pretty similar to what Shigure said. I think applying a tangible image to your anxiety in your head helps you deal with it. Imagining and personifying these thoughts pulling me deep under the surface helps me refocus and relax so I can float

2021-11-29 00:18:09 +0000 UTC@Francesca White If most Shounen/Shonen had the character depth and quality of writing that FB and other Shoujo have, we would be living in the best possible timeline. That's why whenever I see a show that manages to blend great characters with great action/animation it's a dream come true. It doesn't happen enough It's why when I read or watch stuff like Chainsaw Man, FMAB, etc I'm reminded of what's possible when the writer has everything locked down in quality. Those are shounen/shonen that blend everything really well

2021-11-29 00:09:10 +0000 UTC@Francesca Damn thats really sad. Are there any on the level of quality of Fruits Basket? Like....better than Fruits Basket? Imagine if a shoujo even better than FruBa got adapted by Kyoto Animation or some other big budget studio and did a massive budget adaptation of it. The studio that did Fruits Basket did a great job with some of the animation don't get me wrong but its also pretty raw/simple animation and very low budget which is pretty apparent but also totally fine. A full budget shoujo as good as this would probably be the best anime ever made.

2021-11-28 21:19:46 +0000 UTCThe crazy thing is, I've read a lot of Shoujo manga and there are others that are at least close to this level, but shoujo almost never gets animated, so there's so many great, female lead stories out there that people will just never see

2021-11-28 18:42:03 +0000 UTCHonestly this opening and ending pair is my favorite. It captures fruits basket and their characters so well with lots of meaning in both. As for this episode.. man a LOT happened. Isuzu x Haru issues, Yuki still figuring out himself, tohru hitting a road block with her own emotions and memories... its setting up a lot of revelations for the future. And it's going to be painful but beautiful if they can all overcome these things. I also really like what Shigure said too.. that young people are supposed to fight. It's weirdly encouraging whenever im struggling in life. I know that once i struggle through whatever issue i have, i'll later be able to float after i've learned what i needed to.

2021-11-28 10:04:05 +0000 UTCI love this show help Edit: The shot in the new opening where Kyo and Yuki are walking together towards Tohru outside,, and then it cuts to Yuki giving Tohru the hat before cutting to two people fist bumping (one being Kyo's hand based on the bracelet and the other arm having Yuki's skin complexion) is probably symbolic for Kyo and Yuki becoming friendlier in some way to each other. Actually considering his new friend, the council vice president, reminds him of Kyo that makes some sense I'm gonna guess that by the end of this season Kyo and Yuki will have a healthier relationship based on that. Which is kind of a general guess I know, but still

2021-11-28 05:36:27 +0000 UTCKyo being the first image in the dark, surrounded by the bamboo, which looks like jail bars/ a cage, and reaching out towards the sunlight, then the last image being Tohru reaching out as she basks in the sunlight surrounded by sunflowers 😭 it's literally so perfect. not to mention the Yuki and Akito parellel, with Akito holding a camelia THAT LITERALLY HAS HIS HANDS STAINED RED TO LOOK LIKE BLOOD ON HIS HANDS IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY. it's all perfect, there's much more metaphors in the ed but these are the best ones imo

2021-11-28 05:11:54 +0000 UTCok so i'd kind of recommend watching that Kagura episode end again as well as her scene here. in this episode she says "she's going through a heart break", and the other one she said her memories with Kyo belong to her "at least until morning". so i'm not saying there can't be a love triangle with them still, but at this point Kagura has given up on Kyo, i think that's just something you might've missed :)
