Poll: When to watch MHA Heroes Rising?

They aint canon just because the author was payed a lot in licensing fees in order for the anime distributing company to be able to use his characters and his world for their original franchise of movies and for him to lie to his fans to promote it as canon. But, my question is, if i was just to read the manga and never see the anime (since it was hastily rewritten and poorly stitched back together to include the movies) or the movies, would I miss out on anything actually relevant? No, because guess what, movie distribution takes a long time and neither manga nor anime can depend on the plot lines of the movies because of those time constraints. Therefore if both plotlines never intercept, the movies are filler!

They are also all confirmed canon. The movies add a lot to the franchise and characters, and are also a chance for the studio to go all out on the animation side so some of the best fighting/quirk action scenes also take place in the movies, particularly the second movie.

Who cares about the movie, its not like any of it is canon anyway. None of it ever happened. Just watch the fireworks when you feel like it, if you feel like it. Why argue over a "what if?" scenario? I honestly never watched either of the movies.

After half of season 5 should be fine! World Heroes Mission comes in the middle of season 5, which makes timelines a little confusing, but it's all good regardless.

Well I think people are saying that due to personal experience, and I agree with them. I watched the movie before Season 5 and literally nothing was spoiled for me cause I clearly just didn't pick up on the foreshadowing or whatever the small spoilers are.

There are some truly major spoilers for season 5 in the movie. I don't know what everyone else is saying that there's a few subtle spoilers, they're pretty in your face. I recommend watching the movie after Season 5 for sure so you can experience it completely spoiler free.

It's just a matter of whether or not you want to learn some things for the first time during season 5 or during the movie. I liked learning those things during the movie and I don't think I would have preferred learning them in season 5 instead, so eh. If you want to watch it now I say go for it!

There are spoilers, but nothing too big, so it really depends on how much you care about those. Timeline wise it makes the most sense after season 5, coz then you'll have all the context that matters, but it's not like you'll be totally lost if you watch it before.

Omgg hey! I'm so glad to find another bakudeku fan here. I'm so excited for him to watch the movie as well because of their scenes together (as one of the many reasons), though I still voted for after the first arc of s5, I feel like that's a good compromise. It's a shame that shippers get so much hate for no reason.

Except for one major character that shows up at the last arc of season 5 and on top of that anything to do with that character and what the character said in the movie also would be better to have context on before the movie

It does take place after 5, or at least after events that aren't shown until the second arc of 5. And there is one fairly moderate spoiler for 5's back half.

I voted for both watching the movie ASAP or after the first arc, the spoilers are barely spoilers and I didn't notice a single one when I watched the movie so who cares about watching it when pretty much all other MHA fans watched it when it originally aired. The movie makes the most sense post season 5. The are spoilers that were intended as manga "teases" (since it came out in theaters during season 4 release.

I saw the movie with two anime only friends on release night, and neither picked up on any of the "spoilers" that the movie has. It feels more like manga readers see the foreshadowing while anime onlys gloss over it fairly frequently.

I think you should watch it AFTER season 5 so you don’t miss the context given to you by one of the arcs at the end of season 5. Just my 2 cents
