What's after Dragon Prince?

Dragon Prince season 3 is coming to an end this week and the time is long overdue to decide what's next :D

Based on the frequency of requests, the glowing reviews, and the fact that it is currently airing its final season, Attack on Titan seems to be a solid choice.

I am thinking that I will do Attack on Titan now, and choose the next show by poll at the end of FMAB.

If I'm going with Attack on Titan, the schedule will look something like this for the next 2 weeks (early access schedule):

Week of 1/11:

- 3 episodes of FMAB

- Dragon Prince graphic novel, Through the Moon

- A Dragon Prince Q&A for the series so far

- 1 day off

Week of 1/18

- 3 Episodes of FMAB

- 3 Episodes of Attack on Titan

I am also open to doing shorter series simultaneously after Attack on Titan gets rolling.

Let me know what you guys think!

Comments

Are you open to live action shows? Because I'd be interested in seeing your reaction to Haunting of Hill House. Scary though

Shannen Medina

Definitely recommend the sub but I'm so on board with demon slayer!

Darby

It really ends up being worth it in the end. Every piece of info is so significantly important, building up and getting even more and more interesting by Season 2, before hitting you like a WAVE in Season 3. It's truly jaw dropping, probably the only anime to make my jaw physically drop.

Aaron Ong

I just wanted to mention that when you watch AoT, most people, including me, heavily recommend the sub- not because the dub is bad, but because the japanese voice actors do a PHENOMENAL job in this anime. It's one of the things that makes it so great.

Aaron Ong

I just caught up on Attack on Titan myself! It definitely has a mystery box vibe but later seasons (basically everything after the first) do a much better job of developing characters and parsing out the reveals in far more satisfying ways. Season 3 especially.

Kevin Barton

Can I get you to react to bad things like "The Room"? Lol

Morgan Ritson

This

Aaron Ong

Blood of Zeus would definitely be a cool short show you could watch. I also recommend watching The Deep on your own time (not a reaction series because hardly anyone knows about this show so I don't think you'd get too many views from it), it's a real hidden gem.

Soren Monroe

Completely left field/not what you normally do. But I'd love to see you react to Haikyuu! XD

Rose Sea

I could totally back a Steven universe reaction

DrowsyCody

I'm currently watching the latest season of The Expanse :D

Alex G

I've seen Dark and Parasyte. Good Place is one of the shows that gets recommended the most so I'd love to watch it

Alex G

So I've actually watched the first few episodes and stopped watching precisely because I got that feeling

Alex G

Dubbed is definitely easier for this format, but seems like the consensus is for the original with subtitles.

Alex G

This time I just decided to do Attack on Titan based on the sheer volume of requests, but for the next show I'll do a poll :)

Alex G

I hope The Good Place will be on that next poll because it has to be the most perfect live action show you could react to with your general theme of imparting your wisdom along with the reactions. Also its just so damn funny and good!

ComicalSkate

My hero academia

Ian Mossner

After FMA I think Erased or the Promised Neverland would be really cool shows to see you react too! They are both pretty short too. I think both are 12 episodes. TPN will be getting a season 2 tho while Erased is just a miniseries. Or if you were looking for live action stuff it'd be cool to see you react to The Good Place. Since you talk a lot about philosophy and life and purpose and that type of stuff I think you'd have a really cool perspective on the show and enjoy its takes on that stuff.

Kassandra

You should watch demon slayer

Henry Law

Im not sure if your audience would be interested, but you should check out The Haunting of Hill House! It is by far one of my favorite horror shows with a great story!

Michael C

if you’re planning on watching AoT next pls do it sub!!! the immersion it gives because of how TALENTED the va’s are is another level. the dub is.....terrible.....seriously

Mima

AoT sounds good. After that, maybe we can take a break from anime! You know, a show I really enjoyed on Netflix is The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

Fane Alexander

I'm so glad you decided to watch AoT next. Can't wait!

Toomas Erikso

The Clone Wars! Or Daredevil.

Panthy85 .

I would definitely stick around for She-Ra and the Princesses of Power or The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (or if live-action series are in game too then also Battlestar Galactica, The Expanse, The Mandalorian [co-created by Dave Filoni who directed several episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender]).

Therion

You watched season 1 in 6th grade... Way to make me feel old lmao

KJ Gaona

Or "the boys"

William Abbott

I really want you to see Re:Zero. Atot is great but everyone has done it so I need a break

William Abbott

The Good Place and Netflix's Dark are great. I would've suggested Parasyte: The Maxim but if I remember correctly, you've already seen it.

Ruma Risto

Attack on Titan is good but the show is designed as a mystery box. If you think the revelations in FMA are slow, AoT is a drip feed.

ArmdVctr

I have two suggestions: If you want to watch a short Anime Death Parade would be awesome( it's very psychological so I would love for you to watch it). Or you could watch The Queens Gambit on Netflix. The Episodes are pretty long though. Are you going to react to AoT in English dubbed or original. (I personally would prefer dubbed).

Seimän

i've seen someone else suggest it so gona put my vote in as well for mob psycho 100, a really beautiful show about the meaning of finding purpose in life and striving for happiness disguised as a ghost killing battle anime. it's also generally a great laugh and a fun watch so would make for a good reaction.

Bruno Thompson

For some reason I saw this coming, in terms of dub vs sub i like the sub a little more but they're both pretty good so watch whichever you prefer, as for a short show to watch maybe try Baccano! It's only 16 episodes

Melon Soda

Hilda might be one of the best animated shows you can watch. It’s the definition of cozy. The world is super cool too.

Mason Quinn

Attack on Titan is definitely a good idea, but if you do watch it, I'd warn you to be extra vigilant about spoilers. There are some people who even intentionally go into the comments of AoT videos just to spoil things...

Jo

Vinland Saga! I know I keep bugging you about it but it would be the perfect short show to watch as it is only 24 episodes. Also it would be great if you could add it on your poll. Thank you Alex!

Sharan Chakravarthy

Are there other options besides attack on titan did I miss a poll?

Elijah baker

I've seen it all. Season 1 is my favorite for sure. I actually didn't mind season 2 that much, I just think it was a letdown after the first.

Alex G

Steven Universe is actually very highly requested :)

Alex G

True Detective is probably too dark subject wise, but S1 and S3 are self contained and only 10 episodes each. We don't talk about S2...

JXTN

And I'm going to guess the 800+ episodes and 20+ movies of Star Trek doesn't count as a "short series", haha...

JXTN

AOT would be a great next one for sure. I know I just suggested some the other day so, just refer there? Lol I trust you to choose a good one. I’d love to see AOT or one of the Fates!

Itachi The Rouge

I think you would love Steins;Gate. The characters in it are so good and the story is very interesting

Luke Willett

Here's something that no one is going to request, but it's something you need to check out. Steven Universe. It's a cartoon made by Rebecca Sugar, and it's a normal cartoon for about 1 season and then it transforms into the most elequontely written pieces of art I've ever seen. Most episodes feature a song and the show has themes that rival avatar the last airbender. And also cookie cat.

themightyabe

Definitely open to it but just depends on what the options are and what seems to be the most requested

Alex G

Amazing choice! I'm super glad you will be checking out Attack On Titan. I seriously believe you'll enjoy the overall themes that make it an amazing show.

Spiral

I love Infinity Train! It's a great show to speed-through.

Shark-ira

Demon Slayer is absolutely breathtaking. A 26 episode anime with good character development, and a strong developing plot. The main character is surprisingly passionate and empathetic. A great watch in Sub or dubn

Peter Jackson

Cowboy Bebop is one of my favorite anime, Berserk I've been meaning to watch FOREVER

Alex G

Seen it, loved it :)

Alex G

Anything is fine

Alex G

I've heard that spoilers abound, which worries me somewhat lol I'm leaning sub for AoT

Alex G

I agree, I'm thinking that I will do that kind of thing in addition, as time permits.

Alex G

She-ra is probably the 2nd most recommended show so very good chance

Alex G

I'm thinking I might do this on the side after I'm up and running :)

Alex G

I've seen and enjoyed both The Wire and Band of Brothers. "Omar coming!" is a long running joke between me and a few freinds

Alex G

Will there be any non anime reactions in the lineup?

DrowsyCody

Oh man I really recommend checking out his current reaction series if you have time. He has a lot of great commentary on dragon prince and FMAB

Nick

Sounds great! I watched the first couple seasons of AoT then stopped halfway through season 3 for some reason...this will give me a reason to pick it back up!

jdthebud

I second the Steven Universe suggestion. Even though the show isn’t perfect, it has some great qualities especially with its characters and their growth over the series + the epilogue miniseries. Plus most episodes are 11 minutes which makes for easy binging. I’m probably biased because that show resonated with me emotionally in many ways but still. It undeniably has some great qualities and some of the most emotional moments I’ve seen in a cartoon “for kids”

Nick

Death note is about 40 episodes, so you could maybe do that after Fmab

Eddie

If you want a shorter series to try I would love to see your reaction to Infinity Train!!! It’s a very introspective series and it’s amazing and needs more exposure! It would be a fantastic fit for your content! I love your videos!

Maddison K Stewart

I second the person who said Death Note as well! It’s the first anime I ever watched and it was truly amazing! Very dark, but a REALLY smart cat-and-mouse game.

Alyssa Callahan

Yes!

Paul

I think Cowboy Bebop or Berserk 1997 would be right up your alley.

Yay! I'm very very excited. Everyone tells me about how good AOT is but I never got to watch it myself, but now I have the opportunity to watch it with you!

Grace Lee

Found your channel when you started FMA:B but I only just now joined Patreon, the entire time I have been keeping myself to how amazing it would be if you did AOT, and here I join up and see it happening soon. This is good!

Dominic Caciappo

Made in abyss would be awesome!

Jafeth Díaz

I'd love to see you watch Demon Slayer after Attack on Titan. The animation in that show is movie level on every episode along with a top tier soundtrack but i'm pumped for whatever you watch!

Darby

Suggestions for other anime: Tsuritama, a Lull in the Sea, Assassination Classroom, Claymore, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet and Hyouka there's also one called Haibane Renmei that i keep forgetting exists, i'd love to see what u think of it o.o

Brimmy

I think Erased and Death Note would be interesting shows for you to watch as shorter series.

Kingsley

The tatami galaxy is shorter show you can watch

Luis

Code Geass is an amazing anime I'd love to see you disect.

Sibelius

Yep!

jassihere

Are you open to any shows or just animes?

Michael C

Is euphoria the teen sex drama with Zendaya?

Ace

I personally would love to see how your thoughts on Mob Psycho 100 if you haven't seen it already!

Jess Torres

Super hyped to watch Attack on Titan. I definitely recommend watching the sub but its up to you. I will be rewatching the show along with you which I haven't done with the other shows so I'm super hyped.

benj

If you’re looking for a short 12-episode series you should try The Promised Neverland or Made In Abyss. Both will absolutely take your breath away!

Norrin Radd

Sub or Dub for Attack on Titan? Also be extra wary of spoilers when it comes to AoT. Major plot points can be spoiled in a few words and part of the fun of AoT is in its reveals.

Huey

I personally love the anime Gurren Lagann if you want a 25ish episode show.

ImpJ

Yes! I would really love to see his reaction to everything and plus it would get a lot of engagement online. :)

jassihere

I'm not sure if you're just looking for anime, but if you're interested in live action shows with more complexity/"maturity", and since your forte seems to be creative, thoughtful shows that explore philosphy and morality, and resulting difficult decisions/situations (which you can pause to discuss at length, haha), then I suggest conisdering The Wire or Star Trek. If you're determined to do something shorter, then Band of Brothers certainly gives one a lot to ponder. I don't kow what your audience demographics are though, maybe some of this is too heavy/dark.

JXTN

The Great Pretender on Netflix is an incredible series with a lot of twists and details that I think you'd pick up on. As well as it explores a ton of real world issues/lessons pretty deeply I'd love to see you discuss. Also has a great soundtrack/art style/voice acting (good dub), is easily accessible on Netflix, not too long. I think it would be great for you to react to, if not now eventually. Attack on Titan is an awesome option too!

SupremeCai

Attack on Titan would be awesome. There’s a lot there you can unpack, and the characters face a lot of moral dilemmas that I’d love to see your perspective on. On top of that, the show is awesome and the final season should solidify it as an all-time classic. 10000% would love to see you react to AoT, and with the final season airing as we speak. I think it could bring more and newer viewers to the channel too to continue to grow this AGTV community!

Vali

If you want to balance out a lot of the anime, may I suggest infinity train! 3 seasons 10 episodes each but episodes only run at 11min. If not that, over the garden wall is a nice small 10 episode series

slumberyclub

oh yes! euphoria was amazing

NitrousOxide19

Amazon's "The Boys" is 2 seasons. oorrrrrrr MANDOLORIAN? also 2 seasons..

Zavooloo

Would love AoT to be next! i also second the comments advocating for she-ra but i also throw in the suggestion of Death parade. it's a 12 episode series with lots to analyse

malikparah

This is kind of niche (I don't think there are any reactors that have done it, at least that I've seen) and it'll probably have to be one of the poll shows (it's quite long, 50 episodes if I remember correctly) but I'd love to see your reaction to the anime Eureka Seven. It deals with a lot of heavy themes like coming-of-age, the horrors of war, xenophobia and much more, but it's also just really heartwarming and fun, and it's to this day tied with FMA:B for my favourite anime of all time. Also, I've never seen Attack on Titan, so I might have to start watching along. I'm kind of excited, actually.

R. Lewis

I think a short 14 episode or less show could be cool. It would provide a little break from the longer, bigger commitment shows. If you did do this, Angel Beats is a good option. The Mandalorian would also be neat and is getting pretty good engagement on YT rn.

Ace

I think you’d really get a lot of mileage out of rascal does not dream of bunny girl senpai. It’s only 13 episodes and a movie but lots of character writing that’s more implied or show don’t tell. You’d probably have a lot to say about what happens in it

Kollie123

Attack on Titan would be wonderful. Life's been crazy and I kind of fell away after your Korra reactions, but I'll certainly be there to check out AoT. I would still absolutely love for you to see RWBY someday, but I think AoT is a good choice for sure.

Mac Muscara

I like all of the shows the other people are suggesting but if you’re open to live action and haven’t seen it, Euphoria could be something to look at. There’s only 8 episodes but they are about an hour long. Or Kipo and the Age of the Wonderbeast on Netflix

jassihere

That sounds great! Aot is one of my all time favorite shows so I'm excited! Hope you can do She-ra sometime in the future :)

Shark-ira

or netflix shows in general(live action)!

NitrousOxide19

the promised neverland (12 episodes) is a really good watch!

NitrousOxide19

this sounds great! if I were to suggest another great show it would be Gravity Falls. Has a little more "filler" stuff in there but it definitely has a good story to it. It's super fun.

Aidan Pullen

I vote for She-Ra and the Princesses of Power and if you haven't seen it yet, Steven Universe 😁

Sandy Gamboa

Gurren Lagann!! I'm telling you! It's short - only 27 episodes. And it's EPIC! please do Gurren Lagann!

FlatOutBoy

Happy Aot is next!

R'Mani Leavell

I finally have a reason to finish AoT. I stopped after season 1, back in 6th grade. Going to be some crazy nostalgia, I’m excited. And these two series seem perfect to react to simultaneously
