I felt the same way to until I finished season 1 and then read the rest of the manga chapters. You are in for an incredible surprise. The creator of the manga is a genius!!!!!

2020-11-22 01:50:17 +0000 UTCSo I watched the first few episodes a while ago, and I got turned off cause I felt like there were a lot of "mystery boxes," or story elements that made me feel like even the writers didn't know the plan for the story. But I've been talking with friends about it and they have convinced me that the story actually is well thought out, and so that is now high on my list of shows to watch.

There are really cool parts and yes characters evolve, but it's all pretty one dimensional and shallow in my humble opinion. Avatar has a lot more depth than you would expect from a 'kids show' and TDP doesn't. I could watch Avatar reactions from cool people all day long, because it's a masterpiece with a lot of different facets and I tried it with TDP reactions but noticed quickly, there is really nothing of interest to talk about. There are no layers, no deeper meaning, nothing that applies to my life. It's all pretty straight and that's fine, just doesn't work as a reaction format for me.

2020-11-21 03:03:14 +0000 UTCI disagree with this strongly, there is a ton of character development in TDP and the show is not even halfway made yet as 4 more seasons have been recently approved to be made. For just half the show being out, there is already considerable character development for the entire main cast and pretty structured arcs very blatantly laid out. Did you watch the same TDP that I did? Ezran and Callum from episode one to Season 3 finale is QUITE the change lmao.

2020-11-20 03:02:06 +0000 UTCI did enjoy the Dragon Prince, but I got to be honest, it doesn't work for me as a reaction series, there is just not much here to analyze in terms of character development. Do you limit yourself in general to anime shows? For I think there is some live action TV out there, deserving of your keen sense for character motivations. First thing that comes to mind is something like 'Black Sails' for example, I think it would lean itself splendidly to your style of analysis. Just saying ;)
