It's sort of like they had a very clear vision for all the other elements, but the comedy was kind of stapled awkwardly on top, as compared to something like Avatar which really has it more embedded in the stories. Humorous circumstances and character dynamics will always trump one-off jokes, but take more effort to build up. However, I do think it gets better for CERTAIN characters in the later seasons (Soren, Lu Jane)

Don't let Season One's animation "issues" (I have no issue with it but most ppl hate it) or the slower build up of the plot make it seem not so. Aaron Ehasz was in my opinion the largest influencer on ATLA's incredible writing quality as he was the Head Writer, and with this show he is the head writer and creator so you already know you are in great hands.

If things continue to go well I will up the amount of both shows by one episode each, and so there will be one day where they overlap. I should announce the new schedule!
