Concept Art Feature: Lilian's Family

I always imagined Lil Guy (Lilian), as being a little boy with a normal family. And part of normal family life is living with annoying siblings and busy (but loving) parents.

The upcoming stories will reveal a bit more of who Lilian is, and why he is such a fan of Gildedguy. As with most of my characters, he is a reflection of my self, except much younger. I can still remember feeling excited and hyped over my favorite stories and media. They provided a fantastical getaway from the mundanity of home life. This nostalgia is what I think of when I think of Lilian & Gildedguy.

Poppy, Lilian's even littler sister, loves to copy her brother's mannerisms and interests. This is at great irksome-ness to Lilian, who, like any kid, needs his own style. Poppy wears a petalled skirt like her mom, but in a yellow hue (to match her favorite animal/insect - the bee).

The parents, Laurel and Poplar ("Pops") live modestly. Pops is a mechanic, and brings the occasional gadget home for his son to play with (hence, Lilian's mask). They try their best to spend time with their kids, however, the little girl gets the lion's share of the attention.

As such, Lilian has learned how to entertain himself in a variety of ways, including gardening in the backyard and "borrowing" flowers from businesses around town. He's a rather solitary boy for his age, something that may come to his detriment in the future.
